Now that ive read the whole thread,im really ready to start. My only problem is getting a large enough protein skimmer down here. Really looks great redox.

thanks jimito. With all that retirerment time on your hands why not try a diy skimmer? Do a search here on RC and you will find multiple skimmer build threads;)

Jimito,
Look in Calfo's BOCP for the schematics on the Nilsen PS. This is what I am using in my GH on 300gal systems & they will pull a 5 gal bucket of skimate in 2 weeks if I crank em up. Use a Corolife Super luft air pump per 2 skimmers & yer set. I thimk my cost per skimmer was like $80.00 a unit including air pump.

Redox,
Looking good as ever my brother!! Have the Bluefins showed up yet down there?

Joshua

Hey joshua The bluefin are a sore subject down here. The warmer than normal waters have kept the bluefins from showing up. Its probably a good thing as they need lots of time to regrow their population. They are totally wiped out by the european fisherman . You just dont see the really big ones anymore. Its really sad to see what humans are doing to our oceans an its inhabitants:confused:

Hi redox, in this pic we don't see any algae at all. Did you noticed diato? I think it is normal in the beginning. I had them too. Post more pics.

Cold water into an r.o. is not very efficient, everything is sweating from the water feed temperature that is colder than normal
