Here's some photos I was hoping to use for a particular purpose that got negated due to my stupidity, but I figured I'd share them where folks would appreciate them. Hope you like 'em!

Great shots, and great tank! Its nice to actually see a reef tank, and not pictures of a frag tank. :D

Very nice!

very nice work! mind sharing what equipment you used, and possibly the settings of the shots?

Thanks!

I was using a Canon Rebel T1i with a Canon EF100 Macro lense and shot everything in RAW from a tripod

1)f/11 1/30 sec, 100mm, ISO-200
2)f/6.3 1/40 ISO-400
3)f/6.3 1/80 ISO-200
4)f/11 1/30 ISO-200
5)f/5.6 1/60 ISO-200
6)f/9 1/15 ISO-200
7)f/16 1/40 ISO-200 - flash cumpulsory

Gorgeous tank! Would love to see more pics from around the tank, not necesarily stunning pictures but just pics of things that look nice. ie. your riccordea garden, zoa patch, etc.

Thanks! :D

What size tank btw?

Very nice filefish! Been trying to get one of those for awhile!

Nice tank dimensions. I like the openess of the 240's.

How long did it take to grow that ric garden?

Do your filefish pair bother anything in your tank? what do you have them eating?

Thanks guys! Sadly the Filefish were rescues that didn't last too long. I never got the female to eat, and the male was doing well until he jumped into the overflow and got banged up pretty bad on the trip downstairs to the sump. He never quite recovered and died about a month ago. I never would have purchased a tricky pair like that, but was given them by a buddy who owns an LFS and got them unwanted in a larger order. We hoped my tank would be o.k. for them, but it didn't work out well.

On a slightly more positive note the ric gardern is booming, but it took "FOREVER". Seriously though, I bought a tiny group of six and I moved it everywhere to find a good spot with no luck. Finally after 3 years it just took off in the spot it's in now. Don't ask me why, but clearly it has particular needs.

That tank is amazing. I love the open space you have between the rock. It is like having little mini reefs inside the tank with the natural schooling behavior of the fish. Very impressive.

I have the same camera and lens but can never get nice pictures like yours. Curious about one thing, do you actually move the pictured object to a certain spot before taking the picture?

wow that is spectacular! one of the prettiest tanks ive ever seen!

I want in if youre ever fragging anything!

I wish I could move stuff around . . . but no I move the camera around alot, and I always use a tripod. I take countless photos from different angles and with different settings, but it almost turns out to be photos taken perpendicular to the glass and with high f-stops that turn out the best.

Thanks everyone!

Joe
