November Meeting - Saturday November 17th 3-5 PM, Norwalk

Really wanted to attend this meeting. Great raffle items and I want to see the multichip LEDs in action. But work and family have thwarted me again. Have fun!

What a great meeting. It was great meeting the new guys and I think we easily surpassed the 26 items up for raffle last year. I did not count but there had to be well over 30 frags. Congrats to Justin on the Red Dragon. Everyone walked away a winner. All I can say is that there is a ton of acclimation happening right now.

I want to thank all our members for such great generosity and enthusiasm. It's fantastic to see how we have matured as a club and to top it off, as a club we are finally out of the red. Great things are ahead for us!

Greg, you missed a great meeting. Sorry we missed ya. Our next big frag raffle will be in May, hopefully we can out do ourselves! As for the multichannel LeDs. They are sitting in a box. I switched to Radiums. I wasn't getting the coloration in my sps I wanted. While everything grew just fine, and some of the corals colored up just fine, however I think there is more that can be gained by switching to the Radiums. I'll host the May meeting next year and we will see!

I've tried to count, and can't get a solid number from memory, but it was more than 35 for sure. Possibly more than 40.

Forgive my poor memory, but does anyone remember who got my bright green, blue eyed Lithophyllon undulatum? And who got my Vivid's Pink Stylophora? Each of those being my "best" coral, of course. :lmao:

I didn't get either, but I came home with 7 frags. we wanted a pink stylo for sure though.

I got the pink stylo...amazing color. Can't wait for it to grow out. Thanks to everyone's amazing donations to the frag raffle especially Steve and Joe for the rare frags and George for those not-so-mini colony frags.

Steve -- what type of placement do you recommend for the stylo?

RJ - glad you got that! The mother colony is an amazingly short 6" from a Vortec MP10, but at a 45 degree angle from it - as opposed to right in front. Not sure what that translates to other than high but not blasting flow - considering Vortecs are fairly broad flow.

As far as light, it gets the highest light any coral has under my DIY LEDs. So it's subjective. But I think its moderately high light. If I were to guess as a PAR equivalent, I'd guess a solid 450 to 600. But thats a guess.

Good luck though! That frag is one of those miracle frags that is as beautiful in your tank as in the vendor picture. :thumbsup:
