Go with the Warner Marine Eco-Bak Pellets as they are working better than the NP ones. I have personal experiance with these and they work as advertised.

My recent experience with the pellets: I've been running the original NP biopellet formula for 6 months now. At this point they should need replacing, but they're unchanged so they're not working for me.
I had a terrible hair algae problem but no nitrate or phosphorus detectable in the water column. The algae was probably too efficient a competitor for the nutrients. I've since resorted to vinegar dosing with fair success. Defeats the purpose of the biopellets though.
I will probably try the Warner Marine Ecobak before I give up on the idea. I've just been too lazy to take the NP pets out of the reactor.
No, they sure didn't. I tried removing my gfo for a while to see if that would allow the pellets to "activate" and the hair algae went wild. Thick growth all over every rock in the tank. This, while feeding so sparingly my anthias were literally starving to death. I thought I was going to have to take the tank down and cook the rock. Dosing vinegar has basically saved my tank.
Lots of people have had good results with these pellets, unfortunately I'm not one of them.
