I was just wondering if the pictures are taken under magnification?

pics of the nudibranchs? No they are not under some sort of magnification... those nudis are about the size of a top mount pencil eraser.

1/2 a millimeter to 2 millimeter and anywhere in between for me. Very hard to see without a magnifying glass, they are a master of disguise.
I do find mornings is the best time to spot them.

Recovery Time

How long after the dip did you see recovery in the zoo's. I dipped all my frags and colonies last night. I can't see any difference today and I am still seeing nudi's on my glass. I am removing them with a syringe as I see them. Have any of you had any luck with the wrasses they describe in the other post about nudi's?? I am so upset. I have lost about 8 frags that have gotten soft or totally disappeared. Please reply.

Thanks

Lori

i have found 2 nudies over the past 6 months in my tank, one green one orange and both about 2 or 3 millimeters long. big enough to see without the magnifying glass. sucked em out with a turkey baster!

CICLID67 why dont you try gettin a sea grass wrasse to eat your nudis? I asked my LFS and he said they are readily availible but for some reason fish stores dont sell them. the sell for aroun $12 and they will eat the nudis.

i just found this thread and realize that i may have on in my tank. i just got a zoo colony the other day. the day after i seen this little red thing on my live rock that crawled right into my zoos. it was about hte size of my pinky fingernail. i left it because i didn't know what it was. i haven't seen it since, even when the colony is closed up. should i do the dip or just wait until i see it againa dn pull it out?
thanks

I have a small rock with some zoos that i might be able to save the olny thing is that i have a small xenia stalk onit. Can i still dip it with the xenia stalk. Please reply asap

I haven't seen any colorful nudis on my zoos but I have seen some transparent nudi looking creatures on my aquarium glass. Are these some type of nudibranch's as well? They are real small and travel all over the glass but they are tarnslucent, no color at all and no branching looking things on their backs.

No more Nudis

No more Nudis

I have a problem with them for about a week. Kept using a turkey baster and some times tweezers. I pulled 18 out around the zoanthids. I than talk with some local saltwater stores and was told that a 6 line wrasse would do the job.

Well it worked. I did see some of the nudis but they did start to die off really fast. So with these three options they all worked well. However I have my zoanthids all mounted down already and could not use any dip.

Its been almost 1 month later and all is good!

Best of luck

:)

I am glad I found this thread, I saw one of those on my glass the other day and thought wow, one of those aptasia eating nudi's that reefscavengers.com offers, well maybe they are the same thing, but anyway, this would explain why my zoo's have been kind of down lately, I just added two more colonies of zoo's I had purchased and I bet thats were they came from, gonna use a dip on all of my zoo's and pick out the one's I see, and for anyone wondering about what reef scavenger's offers as aptasia eating zoo's here is a link, maybe they are the same thing, kind of look the same.

No, they're not the same thing. The Berghia Nudibranches ONLY eat Aiptasia and they die when the Aiptasia is gone. They do not eat Zoas.
