O.S. eating a clam [video]

wow! That's some great footage! Thanks for sharing that with us! Did you actually film that yourself?

:D

Thanks for the kind comments.

As stated above.. it was filmed with my Nikon Coolpix 995 camera.

He's in a 7G bowfront tank. So far he's been the model citizen... already recognizes my feeding stick as being the friendly being that brings him food.

Great video. Enjoyed it. Just watched it again and saw all the ghost shrimp running for their lives. :D

Amazing the video our digital cams can take these days. It's a quick and easy way to post small clips.

dude, thats awsome....where can someone get a mintis like that?.....im gonna be getting some TBS rock soon, and i know they are notorious for having mantis shrimp in them...but do they look anything like that?

The mantis shrimp in TBS rock are more just one color (green or red) that Mantis is a peacock mantis(odontodactylus scyllarus) you can get them at fishsupply.com and few other places.

that is a cool video and that is really neat, but i think that is by far the ugliest thing have ever seen.....i have a small one about 1.5 inches and its ugly...one a foot long like yours just freaks me out.....i think i just threw up in my mouth

 :D

Mine is only 5 inches. No where near a foot long. He was scary looking when I got him (just last week) but his face has grown on me.

He actually has a pretty neat little personality and has been just about as interested in me, as I've been in him.

When I started bringing the camera close to the tank, he would start standing up higher. I'm not too sure if that's actually a threat, but it seems like he was just more intrigued as to what I was doing.

Anyways... I took 2 more vids last night.

Inari cleaning house

Inari being a good home maker

;)

I disagree. Mantis owners are like bulldog owners...they both have a face only their mama could love, but they're so ugly, it's cute.

LMAO! Hey! I've got a 8.9 ranking on HotorNot.com :-P

Hahaha...my bad. I wrote that incorrectly. I was referring to the shrimp and bulldogs, not the actual owners. :D

Cool vids Chris!!!

Did you name (her?) Inari as a "sushi" name? If that's the case, stomatopod sushi is actually called "shako." :(

From what I can tell I believe it's actually a male. I'll worry more about that later, i'd rather not spend any more time looking for a pair of penii. :eek1: :mixed:

I picked Inari named after the Shinto God of rice.

On the phone with the guy from fishsupply.com he mentioned these things are good for only one thing, eating with a bowl of rice. So I thought it somewhat fitting.

:p
