Hi O2 - glad to see the outside tank is doing well. 106 up North of you outside Sacramento. We drove down to Monterey yesterday to get a bit of cooler temperatures.
Nice touch on the end Looking forward to what you have in store.
I have been making slow progress on the filtration upgrade on the system. But alas the new sump is filling with water. Good news is my DIY RO System produced almost 200 gallons in about 16 hours!!!
Stay tuned..... (PS - I have no idea why on my screen the photos are upside down.....)
This will be interesting when this sump goes online. In the past 7.5 years I have only done (2) actual water changes (if memory serves) and each time it was about 100g. Now I'm going to mix in 400g of 0 TDS water. Should be interesting if anything changes.
Also if anyone is checking the webcam, to the left and above the tank I have installed the Alkatronic Alkalinity Monitor. While the app is a little finicky, one the unit is running it's been awesome. If interested in getting one, be aware, my experience the consumption of Reagent is significantly greater than anyone else has reported. In other words, if you get one, make sure you get some extra reagent as well.
These photos were shot under Radions G3 Pro - All channels at 100%. These are not shot under bluish, blue or heavy blue.
I love this Aussie Piece, the polyps aren't on any of the tips.
This one came from Aussie a few months ago. It was yellow and pink. I got it because it has a Coco Worm growing in the center, and the wife loves Coco Worms. But now it's purple and green.
Here is a Grafted Setosa I have been growing out for the past 2 years. To get the Red v Green to really pop you need to crank up the blues. But I think that is because I have it so high in the tank. But under the whites and with the macro take a look at all the color mixing in this one
My Miyagi Tort Colony--- So many years and it still has some crazy contrasting colors
This Monti is the reason I pulled out the Macro lens tonight. I didn't know what it was and needed an ID - Turns out this is Tropic Thunder. One of the few corals I have that looks better from the side than from above.
I'm working on cleaning up some of the mess of the outside fish tanks. The original filtration system when it was built 15+ years ago there wasn't much information about building a saltwater system to last outdoors in the elements. I've learned alot.
So now here is the new filtration system up and running.
Looks great Dave. Really great system inside and out with attention to detail. Love how you added in warning / notifications. Very key I think. Interesting comment on the Apex. Have you provided them any feedback? Also looked at any other systems say like GHL or open source like the reef angel?
The Flameback looked very well for not knowing it was there. Obviously it was getting food. Amazing. Also with the cardinal fish. Sorry to hear that one was lost but the good news is that you have their offspring. Thanks for taking the time with the video. I always enjoy watching them and learn something new.
Navarchus or Majestic Angels I think are one of the most beautiful fish in the world. They are also one of the fastest maturing angels in the Pomacanthus species. While most angels don't start changing to adult coloration till they are 5-8" in size. The Navarchus starts maturing at less than 2". As a true juvenile they look very similar to an Annularis angel. In August I purchased a young angel with just a small orange dot on the back. Now 2 months later the orange is starting to spread. I look forward to growing this beauty all the way out.
This guy is in the overflow of my 180g outdoor frag tank. I don't feed him. He feeds himself by hunting.
There is a quick shot of my other Navarchus. I have had him for over 18 months in the main frag tank. I was lucky enough to get him from a friend in Bali. He came in at 3" with mature coloration in the body but still showing some juvenile stripes. As you can see in the video he still has a couple of stripes.
Not a great quality video, but the little one is really shy.
Love your tank setup mate. Ive run outdoor tanks before and the growth is NUTS and health is second to none.
Ive just setup my new tank using a plasma LEP light, hopefully matching the suns amazing quality but with a bit more control. Sunlight was hard to deal with seasonally or in hot hot weather. I ran some pretty big bills keeping things cool.

Hi Dave - nice fish. Quick question. What are the little blue looking fish with maybe white(ish) tails? Are those in the damsel family? Maybe it was the lighting making me think they are damsels.
