o2manyfish 750g Tank, 1500g System "Built" Thread

Awesome tank! Does having as many fish as you do help or hurt the water quality and sps?

I am a lazy reefer, I don't monitor or check too many parameters, as long as things look good I leave it alone and try to keep my hands out of the tank as much as possible.

I have the 5' fluidized sand filter which handles the bio-load of all the fish no problem.

I think my SPS look good, but not Amazing or incredible compared to other tanks I see with people with much better tank husbandry skills. But we are usually always our worst critics.

My water quality is mostly based on high evaporation levels and lots of daily kalk top off.

Really nice video and I truly enjoy seeing such healthy fish and corals......well done...well done:)

Dave. Thats incredible story. Just remember its not the getting knocked dn that defines us, but how we get up after the blows. Great job.

So I have 5 Bangai cardinals in my tank. For the past 9-10 months I have been noticing the males carrying eggs. I think there are 3 males and 2 females, and it seems like at one point all the males have been holding eggs.

About 2 months ago I watch the spawning dance, and missed the actual egg transfer by mere moments.

So a couple of nights ago I was watching the tank and saw a male holding eggs, and when he opened his mouth there were some eyes peering out.

So today I got out the tripod and macro lens and tried to get some shots of the eggs. It's a challenge cause you have to get him in focus in the macro and then time the shutter with his mouth opening. They must be at the end of the cycle cause at one point there was a tail hanging out the corner of his mouth, but I missed that shot.

And while I had the macro lens out here are some other pics I took tonight.

To say I was upset by my Goldflake jumping from the tank would be an understatement.

But I was fortunate enough today to come across a new Goldflake. I almost bought a pair but used utmost self-control and settled with one.

She (assuming) is a tiny little thing. The girlfriend was extremely dissappointed that I bought a Goldflake angel that doesn't have blue lips. I told her patience.

The pics are taken while acclimating in a bucket, she ate Reef Nutrition Mysis Feast while in the bucket.

I put her in an acclimation box to see if any of the other angels, or damsels are going to cause any problems for her.

Beautiful fish. Do you think you will kick yourself for not getting a pair

I don't think so, it's a Goldflake angel, it's a fish I really enjoy keeping. Having a second juvenile would be cool, but it's not a necessity.

A couple of times over the years I have had 2 mature Goldflakes at the same time and not had any issues. I have only bought a couple of juveniles over the years but they were always at the 3" range, so nothing this small.

In my tank now I starts out with a multicolor and a bellus in this size range and grown them out.

Hopefully there will be lots of updates on the growth of this fish for a long time to come !
