Occelaris fight

I had 2 black false percula (ocellaris) one died in my powerhead so i got a nother one (orange). so now i have 2 false percs, one black and one orange, for some reason the black one attacks the orange one, why is he doing that??

they are establishing dominance, how bad are the attacks? fin ripping? if its to bad you might have to remove the new clown fish, also whats the size of both of them? its possible you have two females, but not enough info to help out a whole lot

No they attacks are not bad, not fin nipping yet. the black one is larger and she wass also larger then the one who got caught in the powerhead. the orange one was in atank with a smaller clown fish, could ot be that they are bouth female?

sounds like u have 2 female clown.... maybe if u move the rock work around it would help with the dominance issue

Could it help if i remove the bigger clown for a while? then interdusing him as the new guy?

not if they are both females, males can turn into females but females are always females and cant turn back into males, not even moving around the tank or reintroducting the larger one later will help if thats the case, but it also sounds to me like you might have two females

Actually the larger black was most likely female b4, and establishing pecking order as previously mentioned.
If they were both female, most likely fin tearing at very least, and most likely death of one.
Watch the smaller to see if it twitches, sure sign of male submitting.

She's just making sure he doesn't get any ideas other than her being the boss.

If they are both female, and the smaller one is submissive, will it be ok in time?

Well every thing is comng along now, the smaller one twithces like cazy and the larger one has stopped attacking him, they are now starting to hoast my toadstool
