Hello,
I want to find a good host anemone for my two black and white Occ. clowns, but i see in the anem faq, the only two hosted in wild are Magnifica and a carpet? BOTH of which it recommends to stay away from.

Anyone have experience with these hosting in a RBTA? i wouldnt mind getting one of these, however i would prefer a BLUE or PURPLE anem if there is one available that will hsot these guys.
Please let me know any anem recommendations for these two. I have had them for about 2 weeks now, and have had a 4 head frogspawn in for 1 week, have not hosted in it yet.

Time and patience wins. Get them a nice RBTA.

i have seen a few RBTA around town here, but most are mutely colored, or Brown. Can i expect any of them to bloom to bright red under my 6x54 T5 tek-light? Or do i want to wait for a bright specimen?

i have my RBTA under a 6x54W tek light in my 90G tank and he's doing very well. Eats like a pig and seems to be very healthy. I'm using the following bulbs:

Front
Antinic / blue+
11,000 aquablue plus
6500 GE Daylight
6500 GE Daylight
11,000 aquablue plus
Antinic / blue+

the only regrete is I would like to replace one of the 6500K with a blue bulb, either an antinic / blue+ or the new or maybe one of the new UVL super antinic. There's just a little yellow to the lights before the antinics are on and then it seems pretty white but i would like it a little whiter / blue

i have pretty much the same setup

4' 6 bulb teklight over a 90G glass with built in overflow

true arctinic
blue+
daylight
daylight
artinic+
true artinic

thw true arc's come on 1 hour earlier than others, and go off one hour later...

Those teklights put out a heck of a lot of light... feel like i can get a tan with those babies!

Right now we have two b/w clowns, one royal gramma, 2 mithrax crabs, two cleaner shrimp, 100 turbos, 100 blue legs, a tigertail cucumber, colony of Xenia, 4 headed frogspawn/hammer hybrid.

Thinking about getting dad a Clam to put in there for fathers day! He loves to sit and watch the tank (much like our cats, they spot the gramma from a mile away)

I had a green carpet in my very first reef. It grew and grew and grew, with raw base rock and a barely cycled tank---such was the level of advice I had---under HO lights. Ultimately it took over a third of a 100gallon tank and it had to go. But the clowns loved it.
