The "OceanFlo" kit may be nice but that price is ridiculous IMO.
It is a little pricey, but there's a reason why. I think right now, they priced them a little high to get back the money invested in the design. The guy that designed them spent a LOT of time in his machine shop making slight variations of each part. This resulted in a really nice product. I bought one of the first prototypes, and when the prop got a little noisy, I emailed the guy that designed them. The next time I saw him, he told me that the way he built the first props had a flaw and he replaced my props and gave me an extra which I haven't needed to use. I have a feeling they will drop the prices some once they recoupe some of that R&D money.

You're better off with http://mjmods.com
Better off how? It may be less expensive, but here is why I think you are not better off.
#1) You have to assemble it which can lead to a noisy pump if things aren't balanced exactly. The prop needs to be PERFECT for the pump to work well and not vibrate.
#2) The shrouds and mounting methods/parts offered on the site just don't look to be of any quality to me.
#3) No warranty on parts, and the site even has a **Disclaimer** that it is a DIY and that you will have "DIY Results"
#4) It is only $25 cheaper than an Oceanflo. The Oceanflo also comes with a nice mounting bracket. To me, that extra $25 is well spent.

I highly doubt that it puts out 3300gph. 2300gph maybe but with a shaved down Dumas 3004 more likely 2000gph or less even.
D.
I can check with Reefdom on this, but IIRC they sent the Oceanflos out to be have their flow output measured. I can definitely say that it blows away the Tunze 6060 I had and takes up a lot less room

.
Don't get me wrong, I think the MJMod is great for someone that wants to build it themself, and if done right they can work excellent. I just don't agree that Oceanflos have a "Rediculous" pricetag since you get a nicely built product that has been tested and tuned, with a warrranty.
