Oceanic Half Circle 76G

Why thanks!
Sure, I have two Koralia Evolution 1050gph powerheads, one on each side pointed toward the middle and alternating on about a 2 min cycle. Then there's another 750 gph in the lower left that cycles 4 min on and 4 off. I use a Hydor SELTZ L40 Pump 740 gph for the return.

...as I reach over and take another note to self ...

Pictures with comments of getting familiar.

The size is perfect. Not too small ...not too big.

This came with it...for 5 Dollar more...Total 305.00
Ebay ...to pay for new sump and 1000sss Skimmer.

First issue...she left the heater in the skimmer drain area ...PLUGGED in before I got there. Easy Fix.

Second issue...it leaks at the corners. Sad to see a persons intellect shine here...she actually thought that silicone on the outside Glass/Tray portion near the corner on each side would fix a leak :lmao:
IMAG1655.jpg

The hood is plastic and aluminum...light and lasting. Note the unique multi function of removable glass access panels (3 in all). Lay them to the tank frame...snug and air like tight....OR...Lay them on the exact matching hood cut outs to have 10 inches of ventilation to the rear exit.

The Plumbing is adjustable...NOTE: first pic compared to second show telescoping system on the drain height.

The quality is amazing...Priceless. I love the cubes ...but this is soooo nice in person.

wait so the tank you bought leaks and you're not even mad? am i missing something?

LOLOL
I am lucky to be one of those guys that can fix anything from Restoring antique Chris Craft Runabouts (complete, engine, interior, Varnished show), Classic Cars, computers, all lawn equipment, well parts, home ac diagnostic and on and on....

I also deducted that a 2400.00 tank set up at 300.00 had to have issues. In fact it is how I find bargains. I search for items that live within the world of the "CAN'T' people. This is the world where people Can't fix anything. In this world items come from a magic place that does not comprehend that if people make them people can fix them.

In my world ..."Can't"...does not exist. In my world most things are made by people with eyes or eye , arms or arm and legs or no legs. Just people with knowledge.

To not buy a 2400.00 tank for 300 do to a silicone leak is like not buying a Lexus because a tire leaks air. See? In that perspective people generally understand. I also have the compassion to understand also that most people can not fix things.

The tank is literally a razor and silicone away from new. The tank had no moving parts...it is a water holding object. I had expected issues with used...evaluation is key to value and defines bargain.

I will post the 9.00 fix of the leak with pictures.

Great question by the way. I almost detect a rhetorical subject of used leaking tanks verses the New

That's a beauty. I think the glass lids were an extra option they charged a lot more for. Mine are just plastic and I don't use them at all due to my lighting and better cooling. The plumbing is good with the adjustable standpipe / snorkel and the right setup, I got mine virtually silent. The loudest thing in it's cooling fan for the light.
I'm sure your fix will go well so yeah, it's a helluva deal.

What purpose does the 750 gph pump serve? Is it to stir detritus?

It does that but wasn't really needed. Actually my wavemaker / timer had 3 timed outlets on it and i just wanted to use them all :o It does mix up the current when it's on giving the tank four different type flows every 8 min. Which the inhabitants seem to like.

I found a 1 1/4 elbow 90 degree to start the fix on the drain filter end, a pack of razor blades and commercial grade sealant specified as manufacturer original (black)

Finally I’ve found my people. I’m not alone on here.

I bought my half round new about a year and a half ago paid about $1000 for tank and hood. You got a great deal. I wanted that specific tank for the place I was living at the time and couldn’t wait or find a used one. Looking forward to your progress.

Oh and sweet tank fishpoop

Sooo...do you have pictures (as I rub my hands together like a mad scientist ).

You will like this thread if you have not seen it. It is a 144 Oceanic half circle but as far as I can tell it is the same times two.

To move the RO water into the salt tank:
CLOSE: 1, 2, 4, 5
OPEN: 3, 6
PUMP: ON

Once the RO water is in the SW tank I open the lid and pour in the correct amount of salt.

To mix SW tank:
CLOSE: 1, 3, 4, 5
OPEN: 2, 6
PUMP: ON

This is what a forum is about. Sharing great ideas from so many view points.
I can in no way imagine having any other tank now. Seeing it in person is WAYYY better than with pictures...and pictures look sweet :) .

Great!
Nice sump. How'd you get that in there? :headwalls:
I removed the tank and took the brace screws out of the top...laid the stand on its back and took the screws off the bottom...inserted the sump and re-assembled. The sump has approximately 1/4 inch space at the rear and 1 inch at the doors and sides. It was a match made in heaven. I had exact maximum measurements and a sump on Craigs list with the exact size showed up for 70 Dollars LOL.

Looks good...Question....you are running bio-balls in there? is it going to be a swim only or reef? If swim tank only ok...but if reef; do you know its going to create nitrate, very fast....something you dont want in a reef tank.

It just started today...I wanted to kick in a cycle. The filter and bio will be taken out. The filter is for the left over suspended Red Sea Coral issues.
I like any and all advice. Thanks for letting me know:thumbsup:

just to be sure, I will ask. I like to listen that is why I post. listening tells me to take out the bio balls .lolol I never intended to use them for my reef system. it was a last minute what the heck to start the cycle. is this okay.... if not I will take them out immediately instead of next week.
