Oceanic Tech Tanks

Hi All,

Anyone know any LFS that carries the oceanic Tech tanks and has them in stock? I'm getting tempted in one but wanted to see it up close to check out the details and sizes. These are 3 sided starphire right?
 
Exotic aquariums has a few instock, I believe they have 2-70 gal and 2-90 gal available. Yes they are 3 sided starphire. They are pretty sweet looking, I really like that fact that there are no braces.
 
I know that Exotic has some as well as O st. I know that Ost had a 120 last week.
 
Mark actually told me about the tech tanks and I went to check them out. BTW how is the frag doing Mark?

I have one! I just want to point out that next to an Elos tank, the Tech Tank looks like something you would buy at a Wal Mart! Just my thoughts. I don't like the way they built it. Lets just say it's in the closet resting for a long long time.
 
^ just curious why you feel the tech tank is lacking on build points? also, aren't elos tanks rimless (i could be wrong). not sure how you would compare the two.
 
I seriousely looked into purchasing a TECH tank while I was planning my upgrade. I found the TECH tank features (overflow design, smoked back, Starphire glass, black trim) to be very nice. I just wish Oceanic would start making a matching canopy for the TECH stand.

What exactly did you not like? I know some people don't like the thin overflow design and I've seen one particular TECH 120, on display, with half-@ss silicon job.
 
I personally don't like the Tech tanks. Too "modern" looking - too much glass and chrome. Also no hood (I do all lighting retrofit - lots of flexibility). I like the more contemporary look of the AGA Mission stands (though their oak "color" is hideous :)).
 
i originally bought the tank and stand. later returned the stand because i found another i liked w/canopy. was more suited to the house also. like you, i like the AGA mission stands. if only they made them in 36"x18" i'd have one of those.
 
I'm considering the tank for a second tank but have not seen one in person, only pics so that's why I thought I'd ask. But I kinda don't like the stand already, looks like a old stereo rack with the glass doors.

I also like the idea of some other tanks with the external overflow that is on the back instead of taking up room inside the tank.
