Oceanpure Salt

Just wanted to see who is using this salt. I've been reading quite a bit about it and it seems to give fairly consistant numbers in terms of ca/alk/mg levels.

Also, anyone know where I could get a half pallet or a pallet shipped to Dallas? I emailed custom aquatics for a price breakdown.

I guess I should have asked Brent to haul a few bags from CA, huh?

I don't us eit but have heard good things from those that do. I use NSW. However if you want some shipped out, try contacting them directly. TAAM is the distributer in Camarillo, Ca. I don't have their card with me right now but could get the numbers for you next week if you want them.

I work as an operations manager for my dads company. I drive the forklift, and handle all logistical stuff ( shipping etc.. ) If you were to pay for the salt and the freight costs, i would gladly ship it to you via AIT, or BAX Global.

When you contact them ask about the "Pro" version of the salt. Several pallets have recently surfaced at shops here in SoCal and it has much stronger specs than the standard Ocean Pure. I recently picked up a few buckets and have used OP (standard) for a while now. The Ca and Alk are close to the standard version but the Mg and pH readings are greatly improved. Pricing appears to still be cheaper than TM Pro so maybe you can get a deal on a pallet.

No you can't have any of mine, but seriously I should have bought a bigger trailer and hauled a few pallets with me.
I am starting to think that I won't have enough room for all of my crap. I maxed out the 28' trailer last night and had to give away a bunch of my furiniture. Oh well!!!!
Wasn't DFWMAS getting pallet pricing from Marine Depot, they carry Oceanpure also.

I have been using the salt since last summer. My dad is using it too. It's dissolves really fast. And there is never any junk at the bottom of the bucket.

I have been using the standard stuff since last april. I get consistant readings and it mixes almost instantly. I have let a 5 gal bottle of mixed water set for a week and got no seperation. I like it.

Hey guys,

I ran a test of this salt that I got from passion of the sea. The numbers seem wierd for a "Pro" salt.

SG: 1.027, Alk: 6.4 MG: 1350 CA: 375.

I measured the SG with a refractometer and the other numbers are from Salifert test kits. The MG is excellent but the CA and Alk seem a bit low. I can push them up with my CACO2 reactor but shouldn't a reef salt have an alk of around 8 with a CA of around 420-450?

I got a 150 buck of OP "Pro" and the salt was in 3 plactic bags that were just labeled OceanPure. Nothing stating Pro on the bags. Is this normal or should the bags be labeled OP Pro?
