Ocellaris eating acan or something else?

I have seen my Ocellaris picking at my acan the past few days. Is the fish causing the damage or reacting to it. What do u think? Maybe from another coral too close? U can see a piece missing from the polyps in a couple of places.

Inhabitants
2 turbos
1 porcelain crab
2 blue legged hermits
1 cerith
1 ocellaris

ricordea
duncan
3 acan
frogspawn
torch
shrooms
blasto

The acan looks inflated like its not being picked at. Usually when corals experience a problem they close up or deflate especially if a fish is picking at it.

I have ownded many ocellaris clowns over the years and NEVER had one try and eat any coral in my tank. I would say it could be possible, but very unlikely. If any thing is eating it I would watch the crabs. How long have you had the acan? Maybe the acan was eating something that the clown was interested in eating.

Those are sweet acans! If you don't mind me asking where did you get them at? And i have a couple acans I see my crabs on them more then anything

Thank you, I dont mind. I got them from premiere reef. U can find them on facebook. I was there 2 weeks ago to pick up the green torch and they still had tons of acans. I think they have 7 color varieties. The rainbow(cyan) acans are my favorite. I plan on gluing all of my frags to the same rock so they can fuse together.

yea that'll look awesome! acans are one of my favorite corals. have you had good growth in your acans?

The orange acan has been in my tank for 1 month. It has grown from 8 heads to 11. The blasto has the best growth from 10 to 18! I did see better growth on the acan when I was using a 5850k bulb. I haven't noticed any new acan heads since I switched to led but the missing flesh is nearly healed and unnoticeable
