I've had a pair of fancy oscellaris clownfish for 3+ years now and out of nowhere my female started to shred the male's fins and chase him around the tank while kicking him out of their gigantea anemone house. My temperature was raised a bit to 82 to accommodate the gigs but I don't see that being the issue. Although I've never seen them lay eggs I've seen the male cleans areas and vigorously shake next to the female while she shakes. By no means am I a clownfish expert so I'd love to hear some thought on this. Last night I had to remove the male since the female was going ballistic beating him up to the point where he was at the top corner of my tank gasping. He is currently in a hospital tank with a small gig I'm treating.
