Other then some color differences they look exactly the same. In fact Perculas look like they are between a reg. and black and white ocellaris clown.

They are different species. They have different dorsal ray counts, different clod patterns (although very similar a lot of times), and different geographical locations. The easiest way for me to tell them apart is to look at the dorsal fins. If the first dorsal ray is rather short and makes the dorsal fin look more or less like a uniform hump, you are probably dealing with percula. Conversely, if the first ray is rather tall and makes the dorsal look more like a sail, then it is most likely occellaris.

I don't think there is any argument that they are the same species. I can't do a lit search for you right now since I'm on my phone, but I've read scientific articles on this topic.

They are different species. Anybody who says A. Ocellaris and A. Percula are the same are just plain wrong.

Percs in my personal experience are nicer anyway :)

Can you post links to these scientific articles? Everything I've read classifies them as separate species, and by definition, they meet the requirements to be separate species. Even though they don't behave like separate species in captivity.

I think bues002 is saying they are different species, not the same
