October Meeting

Would anyone in Memphis be willing to help in planning this meeting? Surely someone is more informed than myself about the Memphis Zoo and someplace to have a family picnic inside the gates. Do we want to grill out there and, if so, are there grills? If not, are we allowed to bring a grill and, is so, can we bring a vehicle on site to unload/reload supplies for the picnic. Are there any volunteers out there (after all we are the Volunteer State). Suggestion for a weekend? Sat or Sun afternoon? Time? I am thinking the 20th or 21st. I am sure, when we get a head count, that we can get group prices for entrance into the zoo. TIA. Vicki

I think once we find out if we can have a cookout, a group effort would be nice...everyone could bring a dish. I make a mean pot of baked beans and I would love to bring some to the meeting. And remember I brought home all the chips and candy bars from the swap to bring to the picnic. The expiration date on the chips is in November so they will still be good. I am not familar with the zoo rules and regulations , I have only gone there with my grandkids on school field trips . I would suggest a saturday afternoon since Saturday is normally a work day for me . But I will go with the opinion of the others in the group.

they have a picnic / park on the out side of the gates, i think their are grills, ill call tomorrow to find out all that,

If at all possible, I would much prefer to have the cookout inside the zoo. I know there are numerous picnic areas inside. Would prefer to not have it outside the park unless we have to. Just need to know if there are grills or if we could bring our own. Thanks everyone for your help??

Vicki, Ill call my buddy tomorrow and get this in the works. I know that Memfish is suposed to be opening somewhere around there and I was thinking that maybe that might be a good place too. Its down to a "shop and party" or a "tour and party" situation, if Richard is good for it that is.

It is up to the officers. I am game for whatever!! The Nov. meeting will be at Ryan and Nina's. Someone just let me know!!
