VOLUNTEERS UNITE

Once again it's time to hear from those willing to make the next meet a reality.

We need to hear from anyone who wishes to share his or her knowledge with the group. If you have presented topics in the past remember we are seeing more and more new members who would benefit from some of the topics.
<hl>
If all goes well I will be giving a lighting/water flow demo and discussion on what works best for SPS systems.

I will also try to have a trailer of the upcoming frag DVD that we are working on.

I would also like to do a frag demo on an SPS, Barry has agreed to supply the colony and frags will be given away in a drawing at the end of the meet.

A quick reminder/the CVRC table sales are just part of the experience:

If you are leaving before the topical discussions you are really missing out. These discussions are what bring the CVRC family together as we learn from those who are willing to share their success and failures with the group. The free exchange of knowledge and aquacultured coral frags has given rise to some great reef tanks in our area and I thank everyone who has participated in this.

ALSO if you wish to sell at the next meet remember to bring your own table and contact me beforehand if you want to reserve a space.

More info to be posted...

I'd like to suggest providing a little more direction to those attending. It was my first time at Cooks for a meeting and I was lost upon arrival (which door do I go in) and had to do a lot of guessing. Informational signs (good time to display a logo). An info table at the door, maybe with a handout, so newbees can ask questions or just see info. Post a schedule so people know that they'll be missing something if they leave. I guess this is where I should be volunteering.

Excellent idea bring a small table Mary will show you the ropes, and and you can run the registration/information booth. I will supply you with the official logo and handout files.

I am glad to see that the President of the club has humbled himself enough to bring cookies and cokes to our next meeting. I will support your re-election.

LOL

And for Phil I will see if I can bring some refreshments and maybe a cookie or two. Anyone else is welcome to bring refreshments as well.

Ron,
If you are bringing the cookies, then Phil should bring at least 4 cases of COKE. At least that would seem fair to me and I am sure Most of the other Members. Especially since he volunteered you. I am sure you and Maria will be so busy baking cookies that you won't have time to stop at the store for Coke.

Okay let's have a poll:

1. Ron Bring Cookies & Coke

2. Ron bring Cookies, Phil bring 4 cases of Coke.

3. Phil bring 12 dozen cookies, (must be peanut butter, Homemade) and 4 cases of Coke. (1 of which may be diet if he chooses)

LOL

okay, let both bring cookies...as long as they are shaped in a the shape of a starfish, and or maybe a seahorse!
Yaaaaaah for Ron and Phil!

I did not volunteer Ron, he said this is where he should be volunteering. I just agreed with him. I have already volunteered to demonstrate my eating and drinking skills so I do not believe I should have to do anything else.

Seriously, I would like to hear someone discuss calcium and alkalinity. I think this is the only area that I am lacking in. As soon as I think I get it figured out something gets out of wack.

ok, I would like to hear a discussion about the calcium as well, maybe how to use/set up a calcium reactor and how to use kalkwasser, the diffference in the two and so on.

I'd be willing to do a slide show on my new 55 gallon tank. Setting it up. Plumbing it ect up to the point in time of the meet.

I will bring myself and (possibly if Ron allows me and Roger has a VHS player) a movie of my homemade sump, how i set it up, how it works ect.

I have a calcium reactor setup if someone wants to demo how to set it up. Along with the kalwasser reactor. These items have been setting here since February as I haven't had time to figure all this stuff out. LOL

Ummm actually Phil I was quoting and responding to Joyski above your post the quotes did not work for some reason LOL.

...I guess this is where I should be volunteering.

But I don't care to bring some cookies.
I don't drink coke though so anyone can bring coke if they like :)

As for Calcium and Alkalinity I agree that would be a great topic.

Hey Mary, that's a great Idea!! I have a HOB calcium reactor that I can't seem to get working either.. we could do a troubleshooting on HOB, inline and kalkwasser reactors!!! Whattya think Ron?
