Octopus XP-2000 Cone Skimmer In Stock (Immediate Shipping!)

I'm getting ready to hook one up right now. These are white with the red graphic on the cone body. The actual photo is the prototype unit.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy

If possible can you give me the actual base diameter, i know the footprint which is not a problem. I only have a limited space to get the skimmer into my sump between the stand and sump.
I know coralvue says it is a 8 inch diameter but iit for example 8 and 1/2 inches.
Any info would be great

Thanks

I am interested in this skimmer, but some real-life pics or even better a video would help to seal the deal. Thanks!

I do have one running now. So far, so good, it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. I haven't had a chance to dial it in yet obviously, but it's only been running for a few hours now.

So far the numbers looks like this:

Air Draw: 1140 LPH = 40scfh
Power Consumption: 30w
Power Factor: .37

These readings are at 8.5" sump depth.

The numbers sound good... I'd be interested in the noise level as well.

I guess they couldn't get the curve down on that decal...

One thing to keep in mind is that this not a very big skimmer, and just like all other cones the reaction chamber is as well small. Having said that, it does seem to work very well. I would compare the skimmer in size to the ATB 840 / Small, with just as good performance for a heck of a lot less money. I have it running next to an Alpha 170 now, and it's doing a pretty good job for it's size. It's pulling less than the 170, but it's also a lot smaller than the 170 too.

I'll get it running in the office today and report back on noise level. So far I can say that 8.5" is probably too deep to run this skimmer from what I am finding, or it is going to the maximum depth to run it at. I have to run the gate valve wide open at 8.5". I will try it in my office around 7.5" - 8".

Noise Level

The pump is not silent. It definitely has a drone to it, however it's minimal, and other equipment on your system would most likely be louder and you wouldn't notice this. It's definitely much quieter than a Sicce pump!

Every sicce pump is different Jeremy : ) As for it being similar to the atb small.....well it is the atb small, body anyhow. I wonder if it will pull the 50scfh in 6" water. Thanks for the info, looks nice! (besides that giant red decal)

True, every Sicce is different! :)

At 7" and 7.5", and 8" the skimmer is pulling between 960LPH and 1090LPH. The water level is easier to adjust between 7" and 8" though.
