Odd hole on my brain

Noticed this and may be why Brain has not been inflating. What is it? It's a literally a perfect circle about the diameter of a pencil eraser. It appears there is also a smaller one exactly on the other side where the ridges meet.

For me it's a vermetid, a tube snail. You can see the operculum inside closing the tube and protecting it.

It's bot really rare to find it in Trachyphyllias.
I had two with one each that had live with it well for years.

Regards

Again I reef central comes through thanks reefers. I deff notice a protective door because I can't get a visual on anything moving in the hole. Thanks for the input, if there's isn't a need to remove it I'd just assume leave it be. Would you consider the host to be problematic and require super glue?

I appreciate the info. So you suggest let it be?

Ok so I got 100 percent confirmation that this is indeed a crab. Couldn't sleep used the flashlight on my phone and bingo tiny pinchers. So now the question of morals. Should I remove it or let it be. I do think that the crab is causing tissue irritation, but could this just be simply growing pains and the coral will set in with its host after time. This crab used the coral as a home and is defended by its host. So I can't see this relationship in nature being counter productive I.e crab protects coral and coral protects crab. Otherwise we'd have a bunch of dead corals with crabs living in them.

How do you go about eradicating such a pest? My green brain has a small hole...that I can't really identify if there is anything in there or not.

So I stuck a small nail in there thinking the hole was wasn't that deep hoping to crush the crab.... There are a whole network of tunnels. So I can't tell if I smashed it or it just retreated into one of the other tunnels.
