Official 155g bowfront tank build...

So today with the help of several awesome local reefers I got my new tank in the house.

This is the start of the new tank build... I look to have this think up and running in the next few weeks.

I have alot of work to do, as you can see I have alot of work to do in the canopy alone. lol Its such a cluster in there.

Im going to turn the wet,dry into a fuge/sump.

Now on to the pictures... sorry for the crappy pictures, I had to take pictures with my camera phone. I seem to have lost my rechargable batteries for my camera.

and it looks like my cat has already renamed my beer ledge as the cat ledge. lol

you can see in this picture all of the work that needs to be redone to this lighting setup lol.

nice tank. you never called me so i figured you didnt need my help. the cats going to freak out once some stuff is in there lol. my moms cats stair at my tank all day unless i got them chasing my laser pointer lol. gl with the build.

my old tank, my cats would always smack the glass at the fish. now they just have an easy way of doing it lol

yes it came with about 200 lbs of live rock infested in majanos. so Im currently "killing off" the liverock and will be starting out with base rock.

It also came with no corals, and I sold off all of mine so starting fresh there.

and the setup came with fish that I will not be keeping. Ill be selling the fish in the next week or 2.

I also just started soaking all the returns, plumbing parts and all the pumps and skimmer in a nice vinegar bath for the next day to clean it all up.

Btw guys who were trying to figure out the sump size today, its a 29g sump.

should be very interesting to see what you do, like the idea of the chiller belwo the house, but not if it is hard to service...

I think first Im going to setup the tank with out the chiller let it run for a bit and decide if i want to use the chiller. I keep my house between 70-72 degrees so i donno if i will even have a heating problem.

Bowfronts are my favorite, too! All of the tanks I own are bow fronts. Looking forward to see this build...

Really? Any idea how many folks use three 250 watt halides with no chiller. Joe ran three 400 watt halides with no chiller.

actually right now its 2-250 and 1-175, but ill be swapping out the 175w with another 250. so if anyone is in the market for a 175w ballast. let me know...thanks mrblack, i like the way a bowfront looks also.

i run 3 400 watt halides on my 265 w/o chiller or fans they are inside a hood open only partial on top and tank stays at 78-79
