Official Borbonius Anthias Thread

Sorry if this has been answered. Picked up one from someone tearing down their tank. Was a good eater in his tank but had some fin damage, which looks like a bacterial infection. Put him in a 20 gallon qt tank with some large rocks for hiding places. He is in qt day 2 now and shows no activity and won't go after any food. Started treating with maracyn 2 yesterday and will pick up some blackworms or live brine to try to tempt him/her to eat. Any other suggestions. Refused PE mysis (previous diet) as well as pellets and squid.

Here is my little guy I just got yesterday. Started eating mysis last night and is out in the open already. Sorry for the iPhone pic.

What is the natural temperature range for this fish? It seems like people are having good results keeping them at most any temperature, is that right? I'm not going to keep them in warm water if they need cool water, but its not quite clear they need cool water.

on one of mine, one of his eye had started to bulge out. looks like it's going to pop right out. is there something i can do to stop it? what could have caused this?

Wow I miss my fish. I have rescaped the tank and removed most of the live rock that was in the tank because I think I had a predator living in the LR. I have lost 14 fish since my borb disappeared, and all were healthy and eating. Next I am removing all fish with any aggression, and trying to get the tank set so that I can move a couple of borbs in when they are on sale again next winter.

Some great looking fish in here!

I got 2 borbs on Friday one with yellow spots the other with brown, both are about 1inch. The yellow one is out and eating but have not seen the other one yet should I be worried about the other one?

I recieved my Borb 2 wks ago and he has been an eating machine and not to shy at all. I keep my tank around 79-80 degrees and he seems to be fine

Add me to the club! I purchased mine 5-15 from divers den and did an 8 week QT. Here he/she is in the display tank. I love this fish so much and has quickly become my favorite in the short week it's been in there.

My borb is the most aggressive fish in my tank so it is time to sale it
It killed my bathy fairy wrasse pair and my male katherin's fairy wrasse by endlessly chasing them
