Could it just be sand blowing around? Floss will usually collect it. If your parameters are ok? Maybe carbon for a while in the reactor? You can try to shut down the mp for a day too to see if it helps. Or set it to slow via apex.

Ghost will let up once a good slime coat builds up. How's your water level back there? Just slightly low could be the culprit. I have mine right to the top of the dividers but not overflowing.
Mine settled down instantly when I installed the ato. I occasionally get a burst from the return lines, but it's rare now.

I run chemi-pure/filter floss & purigen(sp?) & cheato .
I have BRS ROX that I had laying around and just put it in a filter bag to see if it helps earlier today

I have it set to the top of the dividers also.
skimmer def has slime all over it. I tried switching it around so the bubbles are further away from the return pump
Does your intank media baskets fit in the 2 & 4 chamber? I was going to move the skimmer to chamber 5 but the intank basket wont fit in 4.
I think I have some sand being kicked up, I have it set to 50%

Don't know if the 2/4 are wide enough. You can try a 90 degree turn of the ghost each day to see if it helps. Or maybe stuff some floss in the bottom to break up the bubbles. Mine mb for almost a month before it stopped.
How long has the purgen been in?

purgen has been in for a few weeks now.

should still be ok, though I have read stories about cpe and purgen releasing what they absorb once they have been saturated. Don't know how true it is.

I do know once I have established the fuge, I'll discontinue them both and just run GFO with the occasional mix of carbon if needed.

When I get home tonight I'll see if the carbon helped at all.

so.. i think the carbon is helping or I want to believe it's helping lol. It looks clearer to me..
it's def. the skimmer causing the micro bubbles

yeah, the carbon is def. helping. Odd that the purigen/chemi-pure didn't help
i have the skimmer off line to i can fiddle with it to fix the bubbles

Hello reefers

i was wondering for the 24g innovative marine, if i wanted to upgrade the stock return pump. do you recommend any pump that would fit in the back chamber for it?

Thanks

do you know which model would work best? i was looking at the maxi-jets and the model 1200 only has about 295 GPH where as the standard pump has 476 GPH.

just trying to find one that would fit in the back chamber.

look at the spec sheet and shop around. I know that sump is pretty wide..but its also narrow. You could probably measure it more accurately then go shopping.

If a single pump is too big you could go with two as an option.

I would look at Sicce Synchra Silent. last a long, long time. You could pass it down to your kids.

Here's my fuge and fuge light. Refugium chambers is from inTank.com and light is JBJ Nano Glo. You can see two views here: fuge from top down and back of tank where I peeled off wall paper for light, mounted with magnet to shine through.

I haven't got the macro yet but I will go with gracilaria since it is more palatable and more attractive than chaeto. I don't know why chaeto is so popular. Going with pods purchase to inhabit macro.

Hi Folks, two questions:

1) I'm thinking about using a Sicce 1.5 in my Nuvo 16. Does the increased flow cause a problem? The stock pump is noisy.

2) Do you use a Tunze 9004 in a Micro 30L? Where did you put it and how did you like it?

That's technically four questions but..............
