I just bought a Nuvo 38 over the weekend. However, after leak testing it a small chip was noticed in the bottom on the bottom side of the aquarium. I really wouldn't think it would cause a problem, and it did not leak... but I do not want to test it. So I am working on getting a new aquarium. I have been talking with Many at Innovative Marine and he has been very nice and helpful.

I am very excited to get started... I thought I would have water and LR by now but oh well. Maybe next week.

Looking for skimmer recommendations.. I've narrowed it down to one of these three:

Tunze 9004

IM Skim-mate Midsize

Bubble Magnus NAC5E

Any suggestions?

I know some others here have had good luck with the Hydor, and the IM is made for our tank. I just figure those two would be the best fit for our tanks.

I just installed the IM yesterday. Great fit and finish. Starting to produce skimmate already.

I think I'm going to wait until some reviews of the tunze 9004 come out.. I think that would be a nice skimmer.

Have any of you serviced the stock return pump on the 38g? Mine started making a helluva clunking noise. I'm not sure why...

I emailed http://www.mediabaskets.com/ a few weeks back and they mentioned they were looking at making some baskets that would work with the Nuvo 38g's but it might take a few months. These media baskets would be much much better than the stock ones, so if anyone is interested I would fire them off an email and perhaps they would move faster on it? Just sayin..

The InTank Media Basket for the JBJ 28 Nano fits perfectly in the Nuvo 38. The media basket that came with JBJ is the same exact one that comes with the Nuvo so anything that made for the JBJ will fit the Nuvo. I heard the guy that started Innovative Marine came from JBJ.

Doh, Marine Depot. I was thinking you meant Maryland as in House of Tropics. I'm dumb. Anyway, it seems to be doing a great job. I just need to get it dialed in so it pulls less water. Have it up too high. Sometimes I forget that I'm on RC and not my local board, that is why MD made me think of our local shop.

I had to lol when I saw the stool with the hand towel draped over it. I have the exact same thing at my house.

You running chaeto in one of the back chambers?

Awesome setup! Where did you get that mounting system for you AI light??
