OFFICIAL Post-Swap Feedback Thread

Hey guys, thanks to all of you for coming to the 2012 WTMRAC frag swap. We had a great time and I think everything went pretty well. Except for maybe underestimating the time it would take to raffle off the SO MANY raffle prizes we had.... But if you stayed to the end, you were treated with a rapid fire raffle drawing! :) I hope all came away with something. If I didn't get a chance to talk to you there, or if I seemed distracted and not engaged while talking to you, it wasn't personal, ha. I was running crazy trying to do 10 things at once all day. :)

Post in this thread what you won, what you bought, and post some pictures of your new goodies. And if you want to post feedback on what you might like to see next year, or what you might want changed, feel free to post your thoughts. Thanks to all again who came and supported the club. Jay

Lisa and I had a great time! We got to meet a lot of new people, talk with some that we've known for a while, and buy some really cool corals for our home tanks. I was happy to see so many young people there. During the frag demonstration, the table was surrounded by lots of young people. And they were asking lots of really good, intelligent questions.
In my opinion, this was the best, most enjoyable frag swap that I have attended.

Thanks to all of you who spent countless hours preparing and organizing this event. Can't wait til next year.

If you enjoyed this frag swap, I encourage all of you to attend MACNA next weekend in Dallas. Go all three days or just go for a one day trip. Either way, I guarantee you will be blown away.

Thanks to all who put in the hard work getting the frag swap to be successful.I had a great time lookin forward for next year.

For future vendors to the frag swap... When you black out everything on display tanks including back of tank, sides of tank, bottom of tank, black grid to display corals, paint light stand black with actinic leds it makes the corals look like they are plugged into the wall. Just thought I'd share what I observed at this years frag swap that made certain corals pop. Seems as though it was a beacon drawing in the masses.

I'll second that. MACNA is next weekend, fri-sun. Richard, Lisa and I are heading there Thursday. My wife ended up not being able to go, so I have an extra ticket if anyone is interested in it. If you think we had a lot of raffle prizes, multiply that by 100 and increase the worth of all the items. You'll see a raffle of craziness. EcoTech MP Powerheads, LED lights, sumps, skimmers, pumps, coral, all things Imaginable, plus a grand prize of all expense paid diving trip to the islands I think. Speakers of many many topics, dinners, banquets, parties, huge booths, booth girls ha, door prizes, raffles every day, contests, and see the hottest and brightest coral for sale in the US by all vendors, the top guys will be there. See all the newest reef equipment being rolled out for 2013. It will be well worth your time!

Had a really good time at the frag swap. Bought a lot of raffle tickets and came home with a lot of raffle prizes. The box of base rock I got was really nice looking stuff. I tons of food. I looked up the prices of the things I won when I got home and $50 worth of tickets netted me over $275 worth of goodies. roti-feast being one of them. I've never used the stuff but upon reading the label this morning I saw it is supposed to be refridgerated. Put it in the fridge right away but am wondering if it may have spoiled while it was out?

here's the biggest piece I got...I'm lovin it.

I bought $25 worth of raffle tickets. I feel like I well worth my money back. :)

I won:

CaribSea A.R.K. Total Refugium Kit
CaribSea 40 lbs. base rock
Reef Nutrition MysisFeast
ReefNutrition OysterFeast
Marineland Tshirt

And by the way, I bought 25 raffle tickets with consecutive numbers. My last ticket of the 25 was #3138. The winner of the grand prize, the AI Vega LED lighting system was #3139. The very next ticket bought after me!! $1 more would have won it for me, I'll be sick about that all week......lol

Also, did anyone else see the little baby Flame Tip BTA anenome that Frost Duc had for sale? It was half the size of a dime, but the prettiest anemone I've ever seen. I'll see if I can find an online pic to post.

EDit: I found a pic online, but it doesn't do it justice. It's not a rose tip, it's a flame tip. Has neon orange tips, that glow like fire under actinics. I wanted it, but feared that it would get lost in my tank being so tiny. Here's the best pic I could find:

My mother said your coffee was fantastic. I picked up a few smaller frags, didn't to go overboard since it would have been two days before I could make it back to my tank.
