ojonas JBJ 28g build thread

Got a new "replacement wrasse" for my late Fairy that only lasted a day. This time I got a nice healthy Carpenters wrasse. It has been in the tank for a couple of days now and so far so good. Still a little shy but have been out eating so that is a good sign.

Have no pictures of it in the tank yet, only one during acclimation.

Planning for new tank is under way as well. Now I am leaning towards a 150G 48x30x24. My LFS is getting me price information as we speak.

We have a baby!

An anemone baby that is. Came home and saw that my anemone decided to split . I am now a proud owner of two RBTA. Hopefully they both will recover nicely fit until the tank upgrade.

Here are some pictures of them both.

Played around with the macro lens this evening. Though I have posted so many coral shots lately I am due for a fish batch. Enjoy!

The next big step is taken!

I just placed an order for a custom 48x30x24 150 gallon tank from Miracles with three sides StarFire glass. Will be delivered in 6 to 8 weeks. I'm so excited!

Nice tank. Very well done.

My son has a rose bubble tip in his cube. I thought it was doing pretty bad over the course of a couple days. Low and behold it split. Pretty neat deal for something like that to happen in a small space (29 gallon BioCube). Anyway, thought about moving it downstairs to my cube but decided not to.

Oddly enough his two rose bubble tips are slowly taking over the tank with the original spreading over 12" now when he is letting me know he is hungry. The new fella is about 6" already. The new guy stayed close to the original so they take up almost the whole tank...

Upgrade time I'm thinking...

Time for a short update. Tank is humming along in my office. I just do the necessary maintenance on it now since I am waiting for the new tank. The office is a small room and I have noticed that it is harder to keep the temperature down (chiller having a hard time keeping up if the room is hot). Since the RBTA split I have also seen my nitrates raising. Will do more frequent water changes to alleviate the issue. Hopefully I can keep everything alive until the new tank is ready for livestock sometime in June (the earliest).

Figured I would include the latest FTS as well as a few other random shots.

Long time since last update. The tank is still up and running because I ran in to some issues with the tank upgrade and needed a new tank. Should be here in a few weeks or so.

Unfortunately the condition of the nano is in a downward spiral. Partly I think because I have paid less attention to it lately due to the tank upgrade and increased number of work related trips/ But I also think that when my RBTA split and I added the latest fish, the wrasse, the bio load just became too big for the tank. I am losing one SPS after another. The only ones that still does well is my green slimer and the sunset monti. The RBTA and LSP/zoas are doing well as well. Maybe I also made a bad decision when I decided to vacuum the sand bed some. Might have released some bad stuff out in the water column. All tests does show decent results though. I am doing a couple of larger water changes to see it that helps.
