ok anyone in so cal thinking about doing a beach dive?

I am interrested in doing a beach dive somewhere in so cal. I have a few dive buddies but trying to make a it into a bbq beach dive. I did a boat dive off the coast two weeks ago. The last time I did a beach dive was on Maui last november. The date is not certain, I am just checking how many divers are want to come?

Doesn't matter to me...I just need to know when you are going to do this... I travel back and forth from AZ...so need to get an Idea when you are going to do this....

They are pretty much in less than 10' most of the time, I personally wouldn't bother w/ a bottle.

Point Dume, Redondo(lots girls jogging by!!!!) I hear Dear Creek is good... Redondo is probably the easiest entry exit... not too much to see during the day unless you want to go down the canyon... Im game!

i heard a little about the redondo dive, is it realy easy? how deap is the canyon?

entry is very easy (once you lug your gear down 68 steps and across the sand) surf is usually very low, there is a step down once you walk out so far... and then its sand bed. there some sort of nav course laid out, I know one station has an amo can with a resident octo living there (last time there there were two octos) the canyon drops down way deeper than you want to go. But assuming you have tolerable buoyancy skills, you only go as deep as you want to. I have seen some fish, including a school close to the drop off to the canyon, other than that there are halibut all over and a bed of sand dollars. I will be honest in that I have not explored the canyon that much as I usually stick to shallower depths there and do training... but Im game for a strictly fun dive!
