OK Here is the coral I was not gonna say anything about.
Lets get a dialog going on this :D
OK I know what every one says and it has a dismal survival rate, but it was hand picked for heath and I'm gonna give it a go
If it survives COOL if not well I tried.!
It will go on the sand with alternating current away from anything that can rip it or hurt it.

OK so lets here what all you have to say*Puts his asbestos undies on*;) :p

Thats a nice piece Doug. I had an elegance once. That was before I knew what the survival rate was. It actually lasted a little over 2 years in my tank. It finally died after I started zeo. Maybe it prefers a little dirtier water perhaps?
 
elegance are collected from water with high nitrates and phos. when i first started in the 90s i had an elegance, thing was Fing huge but i had to give it to a friend who has a fowlr tank and he still uses the wet/dry bioball method. i spoke with him a few months ago and he says its about 2 feet wide now.



alot of researchers think that when theyre put into a prestine environ they die.
 
I have tried an elegance three times now, all resluted in a fast death. Yours looks a bit swollen? Good luck, they are beautiful!
 
Pic was taken less then 10 min after being put into the tank.
I have my fingers crossed.
But if it dies it was doomed anyway and Im out a few bucks.
But I will give it the best shot I can to give it a chance.
Some one will find the key to whats going on with them sooner or later.
Maybe something simple, maybe something that can't be changed
Who knows.
 
Good luck Doug, I had one a couple of months ago that only lasted about 3 weeks. I do hope you have the exception.

I can say for sure the elegance does not like the Prodibio.
Did my 4th dose yesterday and this am the elegance is not happy at all.
This may be a deal breaker with the Prodibio for me
I also have 2 SPS bleaching this AM and my Chips arco has no PE at all for the first time since I have had it.
Maybe the every week dose for 4 weeks was a bit much for my tank.
All water parameters are good.

I will have to mull it over a bit before I dose again/If I dose again.
On the up side the brown slime is all but gone.
 
Your Zoo's open yet? I would love to hear sucess with them. I want to order some. But like I said, my room mate got two roders of them and neither opened. Good luck though.
