I put mine in the sump although I don't know if that is the best place or not. Electrically I assume it's all pretty well connected...

I have one in the sump and one in the display. While the pump is running, water completes the circuit, but when the return pump is off, each is independant. Thus I feel it needs grounding to protect me.

Good point Marc. In theory there is no electrical input to my display though...I am having a hard time finding free plugs!

How about soldering a copper wire to the (presumably grounded) cold water line and conecting both ground probes to the wire?

So today I fed the fish some fresh diced marlin soaked in Selcon and Garlic Guard. My buddy Rick says he wants to be one of my fish!

There is one thing I could use some advice on: I am having to turn the CO2 up at the needle valve almost every day. When it turns on, it is a bit too slow so I speed it up, but does anyone know why this would happen so often? It is making it difficult to keep dialed in.

Water parameters are slowly rising and a recent test showed Ca of 385 and alk of 8.8. This is definitely good to see since I have been battling to keep alk up for some time now. Still working on the reactor baskets!

BTW, Curt at Neptune said that the DC8 box is metal and grounded so I could scrape off some paint and mount the ground to that.

Jonathan, the PSI going to the bubble counter should be 12. Then set the bubble rate to 1 or 2 per second.

So how is the new reaction chamber doing? did you get that seam leak fixed? how aobut those baskets is it fully functional?

fully functional beer in me. Seam leak is good. still have to make the Ca baskets. Just finished the carbon/floss basket. It's is working well. STOKED Tank is looking good, SPS, LPS, Polyps all growing.

Johnathan,
I've been following along with your thread for quite some time and you've done a great job. I was in Seattle last week on vacation. Great place. We drove through Poulsbo on our way up to Port Townsend.

Yea, my aunt was talking about that festival. I guess PT has festivals all the time. We went up to the tavern up there and had lunch with the brewmaster. He's got some wicked hot beer made with jalapenos

I thought about giving you a ring, but I was with my wife and her aunt, plus, I had no idea where Poulsbo was until we got on the road.

That is very common. we try to keep those people on that side of the water. You did miss out on seeing this thing. still think the skimmer is the best part.
