I don't think that's a pistol shrimp at all as they have asymetrical claws with one being much larger.

No, I don't think so. The pistol shrimp has a different shaped claw. Maybe it is a hybrid (half peppermint, half coral banded shrimp)?

That's what I always thought about the pistols too. You can't see the hair spikes on the claws in the picture either. As far as the link you posted Don, I don't know about that. The head/eyes structure seems to be a lot different.

Whatever it is, it's hard to catch and I am leaving it in my overflow for now.

Marc, where woudl be the best place to post the pic and get good opinions?

I can't do the PSAS thing on Saturday since I have to pick up the family at 2:30PM from the farmer's market and also already had plans later that day as well.

I did ask about it here http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1181452&perpage=25&pagenumber=2 but it wasn't anything solid. If you and/or Sherman can't make that it's no biggie.

Well I have to drop the wife and kids off at the farmer's market at 8:30AM so anything after that would be fine.
