Fine by me. Ari is having a B-Day sleepover at Seth's place too. Also, teh PSAS frag swap is the same day right? 4-19?

That's the day!

BTW, anyone who has the chance and will be anywhere in the area should check out J's tank. He's done a great job with making the maintenance as simple as possible as he has a real passion for the hobby. I really admire what he has done with the light movers and his choice of lighting. So much so that I'm trying to find a 250 watt HQI DE bulb with similar color.

Well, I am screwed. This is supposed to be the best ever frag swap on the 19th and it starts at 7 pm...

About the lighting: I remember when I was making that decision I got a lot of negative opinions regarding using the 20K lamps, that they would look too blue, etc. but I am very happy with the color and the fact that I do not need to run supplemental lighting.

As Marc stated, the PAR is typically lower with these lamps, but with the power I am running, it more than makes up for it. On my wish list is a PAR meter, and I hope to get some real numbers one of these days.

Thanks for the cmpliment Sherman. That means a lot to me considering how experienced you are at this hobby. BTW, I was thinking about you tonight while admiring that modded Octo you did...it is really running well. Sucking coffee out of a tank that has no fish in it...

I also meant to mention that after two solid years years of daily use, the Quiet One pump I have on my water change/mixing tank finally seized up. So I pulled it off, soaked it for about 30 minutes in a very weak muriatic acid solution, and it's good as new. I know I have heard grumblings about these pumps, but it has been a trooper and I think people run into problems with them getting coated with minerals due to the heat generated by the motor.

So, what's more important, men getting their brains bashed in, or a frag swap?

Well, I could get the fight and record it and we could watch it Sunday? I know you want to go to the swap. Like I said, passion!

I dunno yet, Anthony's b-day party is at chuck the cheeses at 1:00 and I don't know if he's having a sleepover or what. Maybe better to plan it at your place to be safe.

Ah, Chuck-E-Cheese and little kids birthday parties. I miss those days, sort of. Well, not really.

same nothing new all the corals are growing very fast and fishes are fat and healthy which is a good thing. i still need to install my calcium reactor soon

 it's the damn kids, lights, animated mouse...I would have a freakin' stroke in there.

Lights...he who has like 25,000w of light over his tank says he'll have a stroke from the lights... ;)

On a more serious note J...I know you aren't fully recovered and all, but how does the recovery go for ya?

The "recovery" continues. I have been not using my earplugs more and more, and found myself inside an Albertson's the other day without them on. I felt good about that progress, being able to navigate the store, deal with various stimuli, and make it out of the store in a fairly normal state.

About the lights, I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but the reef was a huge building block in my recovery. It helped de-sensitize me to sound, movement, and light. All of these areas were extremely bad in the initial stages of my recovery, but I can easily check salinity by looking through the refractometer at the light over my tank now. I did it on purpose.

I still have issues in these areas, but overall, I am happy with my recovery. It all depends on the time of day as well. I get fatigued in the afternoon/early evening, and become much more suseptible to stimuli. I was at a local reefer's house the other day after 5 pm and he has cuckoo clocks...the ticking and "chiming" would literally interupt my brain waves.

OK! Enough chat, we can have some picture please? lol

would love to see some pictures of your tank with new lamp.

Very hard to imagine what kind of colour it is to make Sherman wants it badly.

hug? sorry then.

i though you did and that's why Sherman made a comment.
