managed to pur water on the floor twice today. overflowed my SW mixing tank while Sherman was here...oh hurray!

Clams are the same. I have various STN going on too. Poly Filter pads are not changing to any color either.

I'll get some pics and maybe even a FTM (Full Tank Movie) in the next few days.

Stupid question, but have you checked for pests on the corals that are STNing?

Have you tried a FW dip with the clams?

no pests that I can find. have not FW dipped the clams. It does not appear to be a parasite or disease, but some kind of water quality issue that I don't seem to be able to find. Maybe it's lead in my Chinese salt?

Have you tried a lead test kit? I know they have them for houses at HD. I wonder if it would work on SW. I guess you could evaporate all the water and test what's left.

Worth a try.

Seems you are having nothing but bad luck lately. You know we have lead pipes here in my area. I would think that a good RO/DI unit would remove any heavy metals or lead contaminants in the water.J do you use the two part.It has been mentioned that may cause bromide levels to rise in the tank but I know you have a calcium reactor.I remember you saying you have the two part but not sure if you use it.

I can't imagine getting lead through the RO/DI, but there cold be a contaminant in the salt. I have never tested for bromide, but that is one of the ones done by the lab.

J with all the money you have invested I guess the best thing to do is send samples to a lab to get tested. This way maybe they can find something.CBB may pick on clams how long have you had that fish.

for quite a while but I have not seen it picking on them. I doubt that would make them bleach either. I definitely have seen the cleaner wrasses picking on them. But that doesn't explain the corals either.
