ok how about these fish i looked them up on a compatiblty sheet they said it is ok do you agree here are the fish.....clown fish 2, domino damsel 1, four striped damsel 1, porupine puffer 1, shrimp 2, sea star 2, crab 2, hermit crab 2....does this sound right to you or do i have to much stuff for a 25 gallon aquarium and are they all really compatibile thank you for any help:eek1:  :eek1:

IMHO that's too many fish and not really a good list compatability-wise, either. The damsels and puffer will likely be quite aggressive in such a small tank, and the puffer will gobble down the inverts as soon as he's big enough to fit them in his mouth.

The clowns are a great choice though. :) Add a few gobies, chromis or other peaceful fish and you're all set.

The puffer will get huge, I would leave out the damsels, trust me on this, switch them for a chromis. I would only have one star and depending on what type of crab you are talking about probably just one or none of them. A few hermits and snails, a pair of percula clowns and you should be good.

I agree, I love puffers, but they are huge and agressive. If you really want one, you need a much bigger tank. I like everyone elses idea of the 2 clowns, and a few gobies or chromis. I have a 24 gallon nano-cube, and I'm planning on stocking it with:

2 false percula clownfish
1 6 line wrass
1 yellow watchman goby

I found that a good place to look for different choices is the liveaquaria.com section for beginner and nano fish. It really helped me. Good luck with whatever you choose

wow you just can't take no for an answer can you, like others have said in all your other post no this will not work.

in that size tank, maybe a pair of clowns and a trio of chromis or skip the chromis and have the clowns and a type of goby.

alright everyone it's only the ninth post... and she is getting better (no sea horses).

Samantha I'm linking a page with info on the Porky Puffer here.
Please read it over, the minimum size tank for a puffer that it recommends is a 90, though you maybe able to house him in a 75 while a juvenile, he will still outgrow that too. As far as compatibility wiht the other fish goes, yes it can be compatible in a much, much larger tank, where it wont have to fight for territory.

Now your selection of inverst is fine. Though you still have a lot of fish in your list, I still reccomend that you narrow it down to at least 2-4 fish depending on size of the little beasties.

The damsels...are recommended for at least a 30 gallon to house, though you could hold them in yours also. However as they age they get very, very mean! very protective of there section of their tank...they will fight with everything else in your tank as they age. Damsel also get a pretty good size up to 6" and when they get that big, whoa! lot of attitude!

Narrow it down a bit, and you may have a working combo, if you go with damsels after all, i would do nothing but 2 maybe 3 damsels in that tank.

crazy4reefs: i totally agree, at nine posts about the same topic she should have already learned.

obviously, youre fact sheets are wrong, the puffer will consume the inverts, also, the puffer and damsels will fight, also the puffer grows to large, also the puffer will annoy anything in its sight.

damsels are way to agressive.....

stick with clownfish, a few inverts, maybe a sixline wrasse, stuff like that....

cant believe this but, I'll come to here defense on this one...The LIVEAQUARIA.com compatibility chart I liked to her on one of the many other posts does say that puffers are compatible with damsel and clowns. but not inverts... Now the only thing that i can think of is real good sized tank and they maybe fine...I personaly would show it a with caution on that chart but at least she researched it a little... BUT STILL NO PUFFER IN THAT TANK!!!

yes lets not be too hard on her, but i agree to not posting this question all over the place. the puffer (in a large tank) would probably be fine with the other fish. but not with the inverts.

for your tank just so things go well for you and for your fish.

2 clowns
a goby (clown goby)
or instead of the goby a six line wrasse

and hermits and snail. most star fish don't do well. sorry if i sounded harsh before.

OK, to give some constructive advice... when I had a 55 FOWLR tank, I had a blue dot puffer and a dwarf lion that did coexist with a cleaner shrimp and cleanup crew. The puffer would gnaw on the turbo's shells but they weren't any worse for the wear. As with anything, this setup was probably the exeption to the rule as I kept the puffer well fed. The problem with a puffer in a 25 is that porcupines (or any puffer) are messy eaters and the amount of nutrients that they excrete or from rotting food (along with the other inhabitants) will take a toll on the tank's ability to export nutrient. Sooo, unless you're going to invest money on a super skimmer like a EuroReef or ASM, that's gonna be one dirty water and the problems with algae that come with the dirty water.
