I think James is right we should start planning the next meeting even tho it is not going to be till April somethime but if we want to do a DIY project it would be fun to do some research on it so. My vote is for the frag plugs and how about April 6th at Tiffany and James house in I-Falls?? Would you guys want to host Tiff? We Could meet in Bemidji and carpool up. So if there was anyone from the east hint hint Grand Rapids area we could all ride together??? Park Rapids and Moorhead to!!!

Anyway what are all your thought s on it??

We can certainly host, that's fine. James has been dying to show off the tanks and the pet store said we could come down and see the one I set up there. I don't know squat about making frag plugs though.

That sounds great! I would love to see Tiffany and James's tanks. Only problem is April 6th does not work for me if Alex makes it to state in wrestling :-( The tournament is in Rochester that weekend. He has made it to state the last two years, so I am going to bank on that he will be there again. I won't know that for sure until the 29th of March when he has Regional wrestling in Bemidji. After the weekend of the 5-6 of April, I'm free though - NO MORE WRESTLING!! If we can do another weekend, I would really appreciate it as I am interested in doing a bunch of mushrooms and softies in my new tank and REALLY want to see what they have and how it is all set up. I also think the DIY on frag plugs would be great to see. If it doesn't work, I understand, but I figured I'd post my opinion :-)

I haven't done it myself but have seen it done and know quite a few resources for ingredients and such. GARF would be top of the lisst by the way. It's going to take the entire team to investigate this, plan it and organize and determine what we are going to do. Similar to the luncheon we did this weekend. It's easy!! Start saving your egg cartons!! Maybe next time we can all chip in, order pizza's and save the oraganzing to the DIY project.

We may want to statrt a DIY project that everyone can use and needs up front. The meeting at my house, we drilled glass and looked at DIY kalk drippers.

Another topic that may come up again (we kinda discussed it for the new memebers last weekend) is sumps and refugium's. As many of us are planning new systems and such, maybe the frag plugs can wait till next time and we attack sumps/refugiums now?!? Either way, we benefit.

Here are a few sumps/refugiums and the tanks they were attached to, in the past:

Here is a friends tank/sump from my old reef club in Florida (Suzi, if you see this, I assumed it would be okay - hope all is well with you and your family!!). BTW, that is an ASM G2 (stock - no mods) in the sump...

Our DIY project for that meeting (Flroida Panhandle Reef Club - Summer of 2006) was mixing up "Randy's Two Part Solution". I mentioned dosing "two part solutions" in our meeting. Some of you have never heard of it and some have. It is VERY BENEFICIAL to your system to be adding more than just water changes, especially when you start keeping corals. Those of us with Calcium Reactors watched, but did not participate because we didn't need it, CR's take care of it all without the hassle. Pictures below too.

I will remember to bring my camera the next time and take pictures. Someone can back me up with their camera as well.

We don't have to have on the 6th them not a problem I thought we could get it out in the open to see and make sure that everyone thats wants to come can so how about the 13th???

When I get my 75g running and looking good, I am going to host a meeting!! Maybe June or August??? I need to have a goal so I get this thing done :-) Hey, Tiffany...if you have the paint we can all grab a paint brush while we are there and get that room painted - tee hee :-) Now that would be a DIY project wouldn't it?

We may not have a regular meeting in June I'm thinking unless not many of us attend the frag swap in WI.

The 13 is fine for us as far as I know.

I think Brett also mentioned he would be willing to consider hosting this summer.
