Back to the habit
if I see 1 nudi, chances are there are more right? So last night I was practising my anality by staring at my zoa patch and saw one, I dived in and picked it off with my trusty tweezer(sig. other isn't too happy about that), anyways, i really don't want to do "the dip", not into the chem side of reef keeping and I only have a 24 that currently houses a sixline, bicolor, dusky jaw so another fish is probably out of the question. Any ideas?

yup, if theres one thers more.. at least more egss.. youll need to dip that colony asap... then, dip everything else in about a week. (to let eggs hatch)

The dip isn't that big a deal to do, but IS a huge deal if you want to get rid of the nudis. It's pretty easy and doesn't involve a whole lot chemically. Personally, I still do the dip on all incoming zoas even tho I've never had a nudi in any of them (knock on wood).

I found one on a frag I got, I dipped the frag and did it again a few days later and nothing....It was the only one....Haven't had any issues there after. On the second dip I dipped all colonies just to be sure....There is still no issues to this day your better of being cautious then letting it ride and find out you have a dilemma on your hand.

the thing is, it's easier to dip them now, where they may be a few amount of eggs in there, rather than letting it wait until later, where there's no telling how many dips you'll have to do, but it'll certainly end up at more than two, especially if the nudis are on your live rock by then...

Ok excuse my ignorance but I got Zoo frags in route right now. Whats a "Nudi" and what should I look for and what kind of dip are we talking about? Sounds like something I need to know A.S.A.P.

Well, everything is a chemical :)

At the very least, get a bucket of tank water, and a powerhead, and blast the heck out of each colony/frag before putting it back into your tank. Check for eggs after you blast the zoas too.
