Ok, What Is It?????

Several people tell me its a elephant ear and others tell me its just a large cup mushroom. How do you tell them apart and what is it really. Its 8/9" across now.

It looks like a giant metallic to me. Its in the same family as the lavender tipped mushrooms. Cup mushrooms are generally the big solid green ones that will often eat peoples fish. And elephant ear mushrooms are usaully either bright solid green, or an off-brown color.

hairy mushroom. I have one in my tank. they get pretty big. mine is about 6-8 inches in diameter.

This doesnt really have to do with the ID of the mushroom, but at my LFS they has mushrooms that were 7+'' in diameter.

I have the same exact hairy mushroom, its about 9" in diameter.
