Pics look great.
Tank looks like it is progressing nicely.
How much sand did you end up going with?
Getting ready to set up a 120 also and was going to go with a shallow Sand Bed with a deep one in a stand alone Refugium.

Very nice.

Looks like you have some well place pieces that will fill in and make a really nice tank.

There is about 200lbs for sand, not a really deep send be but I do take care of it. I have that little sand goby that likes to excavate all around the bottom edges of the rocks. I worry that he could undermine the structure one day.

Very nice.

Thanks for noticing, spent hours moving them around before I attached them permanently. Still have two on the plugs. The Oregon Tort seems to be happy in only one place but just not enough future room for him there.

Looking good, Ed. I've been missing your posts...

Did you hook up with the new reefer I sent your way a few weeks ago?

Hope you guys can make a COMAS meeting this year.

It's been a few months since I posted, just thought I would post an update and share a few pictures.

I tackled my hair algae problem, lost a few fish in the process. Somehow got red bugs and some other kind of bug I never identified. Had the symptoms of Acro flatworms but never did see any. Tore the tank apart (notice the new aquascape), dipped everything in TMPCC and ReVive repeatedly for three weeks. Scrubbed all traces of coral from the rock, and then reattached all the frags. Set my growth back a few months but it took care all the little buggers. Only lost one frag in the process and as luck would have it, it was my Purple Monster frag :(.

All the frag are now doing great, no sign of any type of bugs! Some just have not regained full color but time will fix that. Not sure why I have very slow coralline algae growth, mainly on the rocks. All parameters are good, Mag is a little low but getting good growth as you can see so not going to worry too much about it. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Glad to see my thread is still active. I am going to post some more pictures this weekend as the tank will officailly be two years old. Still have not work through all my issues but I think it is at a turning point and stuff is stating to really take off and fill in a bit. Look Saturday or Sunday for new pictures. I know how we all like picutures. :lol2:

Ed,

out of curiosity;

Now that your frags are becoming colonies, how are you keeping up with calcium and magnesium?

MRC CR2 Calcium Reactor, using ARM media. Keeps ALK steady at 8 and calcium at 400, I add a little Kent Turbo calcium to keep it at 450-480. I use Bulk Reef Supply magnesium sulfate/magnesium chloride, shoot for around 1350. I just recently started using BRS stuff, so far me and my wallet are pleased!

We have similar tendencies with Bulk Reef Supply magnesium sulfate/magnesium chloride. I have a doser or two around, but I'm still manually dosing mag. Keeps me hands-on. Im using different media in my CR-2, but will most likely be switching over soon, as mine is no longer available on any webstore I can find.

What is your pH inside the CR-2? Have you needed to bring pH down as the colonies have taken off? Looking forward to pics!
