Older macro with newer canon?

Looking at some older (low price) manual focus canon mount lenses and wondered if they would work with my sl1? Will most canon lenses made for slr work on dslr?

EF and EFS fit all of the EOS Canon's. AF will also work on the EOS. I bought a Sigma 70-300 AF and it works on my Canon Rebel XTi 400D

You can also get adapters to make pretty much any lens work with your camera.
