Only a few reach the summit of Mt. Reef :) You Sir, have reached the summit of SPS keeping.... Fantastic! I sure hope some of the local Canuk's are begging you to pass some of your skills forward.... You clearly have a recipe that works... Congrats!

Thank you for your kind words.

My last 48" T5 fixture packed it in so I have now replaced it with 3 Radion fixtures.
The display tank lighting now consists of:
6 - 250 watt MH pendants
4 - Radion XR30W units (2 are "pro" and 2 aren't)
2 - 48" blue LED strips
various Reef-brite moon lights

I think this may bump up the PAR values a bit although I haven't ever checked them in the past or am I likely to moving forward.:rolleye1:

I will be interested to see how you like the absence of the T5's and addition of LED units. I started with LED units and ended up adding the T5's to supplement the light. But then again I don't have the MH's like you do either!

The only thing I am missing with the T5's so far is the "pinkish" twilight time with reef pinks or Fiji purples. Other than that I have noticed some of the coals getting brighter color so we'll see what happens.

Added in a few new fish today-
13 x chromis (so now the school is at 21)
1 x leopard wrasse
1 x lineatus wrasse

I will soon be adding in some harlequin shrimp to battle my acro eating starfish problem.

Greg,
what kind of a problem do you have with those small starfishes? i have a lot of them in my tank but dont see any issues.

Hi Mike - the plain white ones are fine and in my experience are reef safe but there are others that look to be in the same family that have dark spots and they are an sps eating pest. They also appear to eat coralline algae which doesn't bother me but it might some people.

Hello.
I would like to ask you when are you dosing the fauna Marín trace elements, at night?
And do you add the 4 types or just someones?

Thanks and congratulations for your aquarium

I haven't been using them for more than a year because they have now become harder to get. When I was using them I would add the 3 different elements to the overflow after I completed a water change and it was usually when the lights are one. Thanks for your interest.
