Yes, but it's interesting how some fish can be fine for years and then one day they just turn on you.
Then once they get a taste for the corals that's it, no going back. Also with so many fish crammed together in our tanks that don't live in such close proximity in the wild they can often teach each other new tricks & bad habits.

yes, you're right, I had an Imperator in a mixed reef for 2 years and was a model citizen, then one day I added an another LPS that he decided to taste, then went crazy eating all the LPS in the tank
Yeah I think we all know most fish are hit and miss but I couldn't ever again recommend any butterflies in a reef tank.
I started dosing "Prodibio" a month ago and I am starting to see some changes for the better in the reef. I think I always had my best display tank results when I was carbon dosing back in 2007/2008 but the cost of the Polyp - labs "reefresh" in a larger tank was just too steep however I think Prodibio may be the answer. I also like that the dosing only needs to be done every two weeks instead of daily.
Do you run GFo along with prodibio? i run prodibio for almost 2 years but never able to keep PO4 below 0.06and every time i try small amount of GFo my corals loosing tissue from the base up..
I am running a carbon source (prodibio) to keep nutrients in check and not completely eliminate them. I find the corals stay healthier with deeper colors. I am not a huge fan of the pale looking pastel colors of a zeo tank and other Ultra Low Nutrient Systems. I prefer a deeper richer look so that is what I am going for. But to answer your question I am only 4 weeks into the prodibio and had been running GFO before hand and kept it going without many issues that I can tell.

I have to say that those are some beautiful colors you have there. They are definitely rich and deep with color.

A few tank shots from a week or so ago - I started pretty much from scratch again this year with more than my fair share of obsticles so as you can see things have a long way to go before I even start to catch up to where I was when things were good back in spring 2010. Keep your fingers crossed and give my another year :lol2:
