Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

Nice photo Greg, the stylo looks down right electric. Does your stylo propagate itself? I used to have a pocillo in my system but pullled it (and about 5 of it's babies) because they were springing up all over the tank.

Thanks Dan. Interesting question but to my knowledge I have never had any of my stylos do that but I have seen it from my pocillopora damicornis in my old tank. I just pulled out the babies that popped up in locations I didn't want them in and left the others. I'd think they would have a hard time taking over in a reef that is dominantly acropora and more aggressive unless they grew in places where they could shade them out but that seems unlikely with my coralscape.

Scored a frag of what was supposed to be "red planet" a while back but I'm disappointed with the complete lack of red it has so far. I guess all I can do is give it time and see how it develops.

volcom69 - Do you still have that awsome A. Desalwi its purple with green polyps. Im just curious if you had any pics of it and if it grew quite a bit.
It unfortunately fell behind some other corals in my old tank and during the tear down I found it dead. On the bright side I can still get another piece from my buddy who has the mother colony. Thanks for reminding me I need to go for a visit.

Yea thats the one greg, when you get a new piece of the Deswali make sure you post it, i really liked that one.
Here's my new piece of A.desalwi that was just cut from the same original mother colony that the old one came from. It's pretty sweet already but I'm anxious to see if I can get it coloured up the way the previous one did. I have it chillin' in the frag tank for the time being until I figure out just the right spot for it to call home in the display. And for comparison here is a link to a picture of the old one.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Looks more like a Pink Lemonade indeed Maybe it's receiving "too much" light? Best wishes for 2010 Greg!

Leonardo
Thanks for the input Leonardo, Happy New Year to you as well.

Elliott - nice softy tank! thanks
Thanks Elliott, I do have a soft spot for some softies but that tank's main purpose to to act as a nutrient export for the main display. And to house some poorly behaved fish.

Dave's Reef - I'm with Mark & Leo Gregg, definitely looks like Pink Lemonade to me too!

Hope you have a great new year Gregg!~
Thanks Dave, if that's what it is I won't be too disappointed then, also wanted one of those for quite awhile. Happy New Year to you as well.

Gregg,

That Deswalli is amazing, love the coloration on that piece you left a link too! Hope the new piece colors back up the same for you....

I've always wanted to get one... One of these days I'm gonna have to make it happen!

Maybe Polletti's got some for me, lol! (hint, hint...)
