Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

Greg, congratulations on TOTM! Well deserved.

As to the Chromis, I´m sorry for the intrusion but do you mean something like this:

IME, Chromis spawning is a double ended sword; fascinating to assist at the beginning but very stressful to the rest of the fish as the spawning parents become more and more aggressive. At least in a 90g. ;)

André

Thanks Andre & thanks for the great pictures and yes the male has become much more aggressive. Fortunately the tank size is 400 gal but unfortunately they laid their eggs right in the middle of the tank.:fun2:

There imperator angel ate all the chromis eggs while seemingly ignoring the chromis pounding at him. It was quite humourous actually. Things are back to normal in the fish world again.

I use Dow flakes for calcium (I still have about 40 lbs left from before they made the chemical changes)
I use Arm & Hammer BS, I buy it at Costco.
I use the Dow mag flakes (mag chloride) & I add in the epsom salts (Mag sulfate) also bought at Costco. I use RHF recipe #2 because my ph doesn't need to be increased by baking the sodium bicarbonate. When I run out of my existing stock I will likely order through BRS.
Hope that helps.
