Omaha Zoo Aquarium Tour

The behind the scenes tour was great. The frag growout tanks in the lower level (that purple Monti Cap was nice), and tour above the main display area (aka above the shark tank and etc..) were the tour highlights for my family.

Also had a great time at the zoo's Gorilla exhibit. VERY UP CLOSE & PERSONAL.

Thanks

Jeff and family.

Cool, any pics? I was wondering if anyone was going to give any feedback. How many people went.

I was thinking of everyone who was at the zoo while I visited the Shedd aquarium on Wed and I was wishing how I could have spent more then 3 hours in there and how awesome it would have been to be on the behind the scenes tour at the Shedd aquarium.

Those spider crabs they have on display were friggen HUGE! But the dolphin show was my highlight. They are amazing animals.

I know Tibbs and Brad were both taking pictures, maybe they will post some.

I took a couple hundred pics but I didn't get many winners. Taking pics through thick scratched up acrylic and top down photos through a rippled surface is barely worth attempting. Most of the exhibits were dark enough to warrant a tripod, but I didn't have one. Here were the better shots.

I'll post a few pictures tonight. Great tour and great zoo. The great ape exhibits were amazing although they were a bit depressing. I watched one large orangutan repeatedly bang his head into a tree out of his frustration for captivity.

Hahah, yeah the conditions weren't the best for taking pictures of the tanks. I do have some pictures of the equipment but they are pretty nondescript looking. Brad posted some good pics of the frag table which was probably one of the more interesting areas of the tour.
