OMG That's so Big!

So i had the fortune or misfortune to try both ati hybrid and giesmann aurora.
So i bought two 48 inch ati*8 bulb hybrids, and on one of the lights the time would not updated from the computer and I had to manually set the clock, so I called ati and after they updated the system, both light fixtures stopped working from the computer. Nothing wrong besides the fact*that the time would not updated. I was assured that within a week i would have a fix, which didn't happen. So talked to brs and decided to return the atis and get giesmann aurora. Just got the giessmans up last night. At first glance way less light but i haven't finished adjusting them. I am really disgusted with the price that I payed for these lights and the fact that instructions are reallynonexistent. The big reason for returning the atis was if they couldn't fix something so minor what if i had*a really big issue later. I am not sure im going to be happy with the amount of light coming out of giessmans but i will update asap. Being able to set up light from my phone is a pretty nice feature. The ati advertise that it does cloud cover it does not. As for the fixtures both are very nice the giessmans seem a little more sturdy but i was happy with*my atis wish they would have been able to fix my little issue and given me thewarm and fuzzies. Brs was wonderful through this whole ordeal as always.

Honestly I feel embarrassed to even call brs and say hey u know. I would rather keep the messed up atis than the more expensive giesmann auroras, I am going to go and play with the giessmans today and see if I can get them to perform. I also think these companies putting expensive gear out like these lights both ati and giesmann, should really be shamed by the community, each one of these fixtures are the price of a car.

If companies were to be shamed on here for what they charge then every company would be on blast. Look at the costs for fairly simple things like a MP40, Radion, return pump, ect. This is a hobby and they know those of us in it have a good amount of disposable income and they do their best to get it.
As for your situation I would ping BRS and tell them your plight. Geisemen reflectors are not up to the par of the ATI.

Do not feel embarrassed. Seriously. If you are not happy with the lights now you are going to hate them later and you will hate yourself even more after your embarrassment wears off. Send the lights back, get what you want.

Sounds like you know you need to go back to ATI and give them another shot. You will be bothered by the Geisemans while you have them and eventually will kick your own butt for not replacing them. Sucks to go through it but we have all been there one way or another with equipment not living up to standards...
This is interesting as I have a Geisemann Aurora that I'll be running on my tank when it gets set up. I didn't go with the ATI fixture as I have read tons and tons of people having lots of issues with them. I haven't really heard many people complain about the aurora other than you. Are you afraid you won't have enough light? You have plenty enough light with those fixtures.

I didn't see where you stated the geisemann started to strobe and then stopped communicating. I thought you had a communication issue with the ATI.
I've heard of lots of ATI issues with their dimmable units. It sounded to me that you didn't like the G unit due to seeing the LED from your couch and the t5 not being/appearing as bright as they did in the ATI.
What did you end up going with after you returned the Geisemann's?

They call me lucky, so I bought the 2 x 48 inch 8 bulb hybrid atis the clock won't set from my computer. So i was going to return them, brs sent me the giessmans 2x 48inch auroras.i took down the atis and hung the giessmans. Only one of them had an issue they are very beautiful . The issue was the program was saying that it wasn't communicating with the light and then evrey time it was supposed to dim down it would go on full blast and then drop down a notch. The other issue was sitting on the couch the leds would blind you when you tried to look at the tank. No manual control was sort of scary if the Bluetooth goes down you can't do anything. I am really disgusted with the price of these lights and lack of instruction and support. Am i wrong $2000.00 dollars each unit not including light bulbs is a lot of money? So here is a testimonial for kessil 360 i had two of those on my small tank and now they are on my discus tank never had an issue work like a champ. I kinda wish i would have gone with those but they dont really have the color selection. I hope i explained myself correctly, ask me anything you like
