My ritteri that I got last Saturday wont stay put. :headwalls: He ended up in the overflow the first night I got him. I pulled him out of the back of the tank and he was fine but he keeps wanting to move up the back of the tank. I wouldnt have a problem with it except that I dont want him to end going thru the overflow again.

I Moved him to where he is now hoping he might like the feel of some sand under his foot. Hopefully he wont stray to far this time but it looks likes hes already on the move again.lol

I do know that my clowns hate me now because I keep moving their new place of residence. Its wierd seeing a 2 inch fish taking on a 260 lb. guy. lol

And here he is this morning. Hes not moving at the moment. Which leads me to believe hes after more flow and not light.

Mags like to sit on a flat rock near the edge. And they like to be at the highest point their tentacles can touch, so if it touches anything, it will probably try to climb it eventually.

He is as high as he can go in the tank without being on the wall, right infront of one of the returns. Will just have to see if he gets settled in.

Try putting a strawberry basket or a plastic glad bowl with hioes in it and set a rock on top just until he settles down

He was stationary for almost a day! lol

When I woke up he was starting to go in the overflow.
Hes way to big to put anything on top of him,a good 10 inches across.

1. This species is not recommended for anything under 100 gallons

2. This species likes the feel of a flat rock outcropping, like a cliff, a plateau, or a bluff.

3. This species will readily climb ANYTHING it can touch, and fully expanded, it will end up touching at least one side of your tank at some time.

4. This species one of the hardest to satisfy in the trade. If it keeps moving it will eventually wither away and die.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you need to know what you're working with. You might want to consider the possibility that this anemone will not work in that tank.

High light, high flow, stable parameters, SG 1.026.

And all this is being assumed in my previous statement. The Mags will tend to wander if your nitrates go over 20, and your phosphates over .05. Also, if your tank is less than 6 months old, I would hesitate to have this species in it, regardless of size or layout.

Well I moved my rock away from the back wall to see if he stabilizes on top of it. if he doesnt then I may consider trading him as I would rather see him live than die ofcourse. He really is a gorgeous animal. An enormous when fully expanded. He didnt look nearly this large at SI when I picked him up.

Anyone have a BTA they would wanna trade?
