One step closer to sucking from the bottle! [OT]

Many of you know of the health issues that I've gone through over the past year. Fortunately the Hodgkins is in complete remission and has been for almost 8 months. My only outstanding uncertainty is whether I'll be able to dive again.

This morning I had my first post-chemo, post-radiation pulmonary function test. It showed only a slight degradation in lung function since my pre-treatment test. However, in every single test I was still at or above normal! The slight decline from last year was most likely not related to my treatment (probably is completely because of the 30+ lbs I put on during chemo). I have to do another test next January just to make sure there are no delayed affects, but it looks like come spring time, I'll be diving in earnest again!!! Woo Hoo!

I might be a little bad and do some very shallow water dives in the next month or two just to get my feet wet. There's a great dive over on the east coast that's got a max depth of only 20 feet which will let me get in the water but not put me in a situation where I'm at risk.

So who wants to pay for my first trip back under water? Come on..one of you money bags must want to?!?!

if your thinking about diving shallow the sugar barge is in 15-20 ft of water off bradenton beach .. shore dive... i plan on goin there for my 1st salt dive next wed. but i think its interesting. good luck restoring hope to see ya under the water someday

Bob and I are signed up for diving lessons at Bill Jackson's in August. We'd be up for doing some shallow dives after that. I've dived before (but not in over a decade), but he has not.

hey michindi sounds good its not this week coming up but the wed after that . hopefully every thing goes as planned but ill be sure to let you know i accuallytried all my new dive gear today e-bay specials and all is good just waiting for my gauges tomorrow or friday . but my dive consisted of a 4 ft above ground pool not much exiting in there but was fun for my 3rd dive
