Onyx clown losing color since adding Mag

Yea he's a trusted member who's sold on here before, don't wanna put his name out for privacy purposes. We live pretty close so as soon as this blizzard passes where gonna meet up.

Always a nice score getting an established gig or mag, sounds like there may be an available mag coming up soon too eh?lol

Ah gotcha, and you're too far from me anyway, so there, I totally don't even want it, kinda..but keep me posted if seller flakes!lol

Man with this weather in the Northeast I wish I was in Cali, I might get on a plane and hand deliver it for you lol

I think it was Sustainable Aquatics but might have had c-quest lineage in it. she was such a beauty.

Gotcha, and it was my male in that pairing that was a combo of those two(memory issues after all my clowns!)

My male also kept good color, got him from clownfish depot, nice colors but not quite the perfect shape as the female I got from you.

I'm getting bummed in seeking a perfectly shaped and colored pair of picasso's for the new tank, imperfections have been abundant...

My own experiences, it seem to be a random thing. I have had Onyx lost color with a Magnifica, then later did not loose color to the same anemone. Health of the anemone does not seem to be the cause either. at all of these time, I think my anemone was at optimal health as far as I can tell, and the health of the fish was not the cause either. They was spawning lost color or not.
I think I possible was the one first brought this issue to discussion all those years ago.

You may be the first w/ mags, I think it was Toddrtrex that I first saw posting about percs/picasso losing black in BTA's, and it was hard for me to believe until it actually happened to me, but it was easy for me to sluff it off as them not being a natural host match, especially since just pulling the BTA's alone, no nem at all period the black came right back.

The issue w/ mags is just hard for me to wrap my head around, I mean this IS a natural host match, yet too many have had this to ignore it not being an issue.

I personally love mags best, and I'm not going to let that stop me even if it does compromise color in the clowns...I think!lol
Maybe one day a gig will be in my tank...we'll see after I finally find my new picasso pair and how they do in their new mag, which i also have to find, tank is about ready for one soon I figure, that area of my tank is pretty stark holding out for one.
