I picked up this bonded pair of onyx perculas the other week. I hope they become a mated pair soon, they make a good looking pair and I'd love to raise their young.

Wow!!!! Fantastic pictures and what a beautiful pair. I have never seen an onyx with that much black on it. Where did you get them?

Nice pair indeed. But like others have mentioned, deformities (looks like the female has an underbite as well) can be passed on to further generations, which makes this pair less than perfect for breeding. If you're really into breeding, I'd suggest getting a wild Solomon Island onyx to add to the gene pool. For some reason, I've seen a lot of healthy wild caught specimens that look REALLY nice. I heard that Brook was taking out a lot of the wild clowns, but the latest shipments look super healthy. Just my $.02.

What are your favorite suggested sources for those (and other "exotic" Clowns?

Very nice pair!!!!!!! I just got my pair of black ice clowns and there awesome !!!!!!! Already hosting the rba:.)

I was thinking about setting up and breeding exotic clowns. Do you think they are going to take as easily to breeding as say percs and ocel.?

I was specifically talking onyx. but there are one called transformers too. But I didn't know if they were hybrid and couldn't reproduce.
