My Onyx clowns finally laid eggs. I've had them over a year now. They've been cleaning like crazy the past month or so. Of course, they didn't lay on the tile, but it's a start.

The male has a slight misbar on both sides. The female has A LOT of black.

They look good. Are you going to try to breed them? I tried on my old pair and could not make it to meta.

You think putting the tile in that corner may nudge them to lay on that next time, or disrupt their cycle? BTW the pj doesnt have eggs in his mouth any more and I cant see one anywhere, I looked over the urchin pretty good too!

EastAmherst, I will be trying to breed them (along with all my other pairs). I've never raised any percula, but I've heard they're a little slower to develop. We'll see what happens in a week or so.
ReefBoarder, I plan on waiting a little bit to move the tile. It may disrupt their cycle if I move it in after these eggs hatch. I would like them to get into a little rhythm before disrupting them at all.
From what I've read, it's not uncommon for a male cardinal to eat the eggs the first few times. He needs to get a little experience. I did a little poking around and he should release them after 7 or 8 days (not 3 weeks like I originally thought). So, he may have released them and they never made their way to the urchin by getting sucked into pumps, other fish eating them, etc.

Nice!!!! How many pairs of clowns do you currently have?Do all of them lay eggs and have you been sucessful at raising them?
I have breeding pairs of ocellaris, clarkii, Onyx, and tomato. I just got a pair of black and white ocellaris that were breeding for the previous owner (thanks again Block Head), but they haven't laid for me yet. I expect them to in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
My non-breeding pairs consist of a pair of orange skunks (who should hopefully in ~6 months), and a sweet grade A picasso, and an awesome percula (grade B picasso?). He isn't a picasso, but has neat white markings and has the white spots on his head.
I also have a single male sunrise dottyback that I want to pair up, and my HUGE GSM female is waiting to be paired up with a small GSM that was just purchased.
I want a pair of orchid dottybacks, but don't tell my wife.
